When they woke up in the morning, Ming and Michelle didn't even bother to check if the cab driver was still there. Michelle went to check on Skyler while Ming lay on the bed and tried to remember what happened last night.
Again, he couldn't remember anything, he remembered the extreme happy moment like he was in heaven, he remembered the pain, the hotness on his skin, but nothing else. He lifted the blanket on the couch and saw something red, "Oh my goodness, Michelle, come and see!"
Michelle walked to the living room with Skyler in her arms, she seemed much calmer than Ming. "What's going on?"
"Look, is this blood?" Ming pointed at the thing on the couch.
Michelle put down Skyler and walked to where Ming was pointing at. She got closer look and said, "Look closer, it's not blood."
Ming went over and looked closely. "Is it...?"
"Yes, it's cum, red cum."
"What the heck? Last time it was green, and now it's red?"
"Interesting, huh?" Michelle went to the kitchen to fix breakfast for Skyler.
"You don't think this is messed up?" Ming could still feel the anger in his chest. "What did you guys talk about before I came home?"
"Hmm, nothing particular, he just asked about how we were doing." Michelle didn't even lift her head up. "Oh, he did ask a weird question, I forgot to mention."
"What?" Ming turned to her and looked concerned.
"He asked if you are ready." Said Michelle.
"Ready for what?" Ming looked confused.
"I asked the same question, he just said let me tell you to be ready, but he didn't say for what. What could it be? You going to space? Haha." Michelle laughed and then added," Sorry, I shouldn't have laughed."
Ming didn't say anything, he felt like he missed something in his heart that he just wanted to punch himself.
"By the way, have you asked Simon out?" asked Michelle.
"I was just dumb; he has a girlfriend, and he is totally straight." Ming sighed.
"That doesn't mean anything, I heard a lot of guys came out after they had relationship with girls. How can you be so sure? You will never know if you don't ask." Michelle raised her voice when she said that, then she realized she was too loud and lowered her head.
Ming didn't get why she acted so strongly, he just said, "I don't feel like asking him, that's just too stupid."
"Well, Ming, life is short, what could you lose. Do you want to just live like this till you die?"
Ming didn't say anything, he decided to forget about him.
For the rest of the year, he felt like he had lost his soul, sometimes he could not stop from thinking about him, sometimes he felt Simon was almost off his mind. Michelle knew it and she knew how hard it was to fall in love with someone who didn't love back. She tried to make Ming happy, they even planned some short trips to different places or visit their families in New York. Ming seemed to feel better as time went by.
Meanwhile, Michelle also hadn't stopped dating guys, she was kind of picky that she only dated guys that were absolutely the best looking, Ming told her that most of the guys were just douche, but Michelle insisted.
One year passed like a blink, wintertime in Florida was nice, not so much rain like summertime, but not so cold like in the north, they could still have a lot of outside activities such as walking on the beach, kayaking, sitting outside to have dinner, they really started falling in love with this place.
When the cab driver showed up again in front of their door, Ming was not surprised this time, neither was Michelle. The cab driver seemed to realize what he was thinking the whole night, he didn't ask him too many questions this time, instead he seemed to be more interested in Michelle's personal life, they talked about the guys she had been dating and even joked about which one was the better in bed. Ming just listened to their conversation most of the time.
"What about you, Ming, have you seen anyone?" The cab driver turned to him and asked.
"Me? No, I have been busy at work." Answered Ming, he was a little surprised by the sudden question.
"Oh, don't listen to him, he is in love with someone!" Michelle said and laughed.
"Get out of here! For real?!" The cab driver seemed surprised.
"I wouldn't say I am in love; I just have a crush on someone." Said Ming, he looked at Michelle like she shouldn't have brought it up.
"Oh no, no crush could last that long, just admit it, you are totally in love." Said Michelle, she then turned to the cab driver and said, "do you think a crush could last for more than a year?"
"Well, I am not the right person to talk about love." Answered the cab driver.
"Come on, you have never been in love before?" Michelle poked him and laughed.
He didn't say anything, but he just kept his smile.
"Sorry, I know it's not my business. I was hoping you could help my hubby here." Said Michelle, she felt a little bit awkward.
"Don't worry, how about let's just start doing what I am supposed to do here?" He didn't seem like he wanted to continue this topic.
