The next morning when Ming woke up, he couldn't remember exactly what happened, but he could recall the feeling he had during the sex, it was not excitement anymore like before, he was doing it just because he was following the cab driver's lead, he just felt like he finished a long run in the morning.
Michelle looked excited in the morning, she picked up the used condom and swinged it in front of Ming, it was a tube filled with blue semen. "Isn't it kind of beautiful?" Laughed Michelle.
Ming hadn't talked to Simon for a long time, at least not formal conversations, he tried his best to avoid seeing him, every time he heard some news about him, his heart just started beating so fast. He didn't like this kind of feeling, he still dreamed about talking to him, in his dream they were not doing anything sexually, just talking, he would tell Simon everything in his dream, Simon would just look at him quietly, there was nobody around them, it felt like they were the only people in the whole world.
When Ming woke up, he felt depressed, he would rather stay in his dream forever.
Until about a month later, he heard about the news that Simon was leaving NASA, he couldn't hold it any longer, he decided to tell him.
He sent him an email asking him if he could take him out for a goodbye lunch, given they were not close, it took him a while to write the email, he didn't want to sound too rushed and stupid. At first, he wrote a long email to say how sad he was to see him leaving and how much he was going to miss working with him, then he deleted all of it and wrote again and again, until finally, he sent out a very short email:
"Hey Simon, I heard you are leaving? Too bad, you will be missed! Let's grab lunch together this week before you leave! My treat!"
Simon replied shortly after he sent the email, he just asked what time and where. Ming decided to go somewhere a little bit further from work.
When Ming saw Simon sitting by the table, his heartbeat was so fast that he regretted this invitation. Simon emailed him earlier and asked if he wanted them to drive together, but Ming refused, he was too afraid to sit in the same car with him.
"Hey Ming." Simon smiled at him. He was even more handsome than the last time he saw him, Ming thought.
"Sorry I am late, got to send out that email before the meeting this afternoon." Ming looked down immediately when he sat down.
"No worries, I know you have been busy lately, haven't seen you for a while, how have you been?" Simon still looked at him.
"So why did you decide to leave NASA? I haven't seen people leaving here, I mean everyone's dream is to work here." Ming skipped his question.
"Well, all kinds of reasons. Better pay is probably the obvious one."
"We are going to miss you." Ming finally lifted his head and looked at Simon.
"You don't want me to leave?" Simon laughed. Ming suddenly blushed, he just whispered, "nope."
Nobody talked for a while till the waitress came to ask if they were ready to order food. Strangely, Ming didn't feel awkward, he even felt happy just sitting here. He talked to himself in his head, if they could just sit here forever, he would rather do that, he would even give up his dream of going to space.
"Are you sure?" The waitress asked. Which stunned Ming, somehow, he thought he heard the cab driver's voice. It turned out she was asking Simon if he was sure about changing the food he just ordered.
"What's wrong, Ming?" Simon looked at him worriedly.
"Oh, nothing, I thought I heard someone I know." Ming didn't look at Simon, but he felt warm and even happy, he was surprised Simon even noticed that.
