Did she have to be so blunt about that topic in public? I don't want to have this conversation with her right now. I am sure my sister will ask the same question when she gets back from gods knows where. I let Cyprus and her have a break from everything going on at the castle right now. I was hoping that Callie would pop out a child before I did, but she hasn't even thought about children, and she has been mated to him far longer than I have to Elena. I rolled my eyes, and she smacked me in the head like a child getting scolded.

''I haven't even gotten to talk to her about that since eric has yet to tell her about him not wanting kids ever.'' Mother snorted, and I narrowed my eyes at her. ''I think it's a good thing he won't have any offspring running around, even though I do feel bad for my daughter-in-law. I just wish things were different and I could be happy for him.'' I wonder if she will ever forgive him. She can't hate him forever and she forgets that I started this war, not him.

''I got father killed and you should be blaming me, not him. I caused his death, mother.'' I know I just made her upset by bringing father up, but she needs to let shit go. He has been dead for over 500 years, and I know it must be hard not living with your mate, but she needs to live not grief on someone who now is dust in the grave. She is lucky that she didn't go crazy after dad died.

''I guess I can't blame anyone but me for letting him be around us we he was just a pup. His mother and I used to be best friends and after she found out, he loved me and not her. She went off the handle and tried to kill me. I never told anyone, not even your father, knowing he would try to have her executed after what she had done. I heard she went crazy and was locked away. I don't wish ill intent on anyone, but she deserves it. I feel bad for Elena, I really do. She had her life turned upside down in a blink of an eye and a girl like that doesn't deserve it.''

I nodded in agreement. ''She might have some info on who might be behind on this hybrid shit. Eric is deciding if he should let Elena meet her or not. He needs an answer sooner than later.'' She snaps her head up and disapproval comes across her face. ''She will want something out of it, I guarantee it. I know how she works, and she won't tell him shit unless she either gets out or gets something in return. Her people that she was doting queen, but I knew the real her. And she was a snake under that skin. Elena needs to be cautious around her.'' I don't like this at all.

''Are you saying Elena is in danger if she was let out?'' I know she saw the worry on my face. ''No, she may be a snake, but she wouldn't lay a hand on anyone, but she might have someone do her dirty work for her. I would have Elena stay away from that side of the castle. Eric's sister is nothing like their mother and thank the gods. She is safe with him. I know that for sure.''

''Why didn't you say anything to me about this?'' I glared at her, and she signed, ''I wasn't worried since she was locked up and knowing she would not be out of her cell anytime soon. You know how serious eric is when someone in his kingdom kills a human even though he has done it himself, but I can see why. You know how bad wolves are when they don't have their mate with them. She might be his mother, but he rules with an iron fist, and it would look bad if he let her walk free after what she had done.''

I knew she would go crazy sooner than later, but I am surprised she lasted that long with her mate. ''Would you ever see her again?'' I asked her. She bared her fangs at me. Never mind. ''Yes, when she is dead and burned over the river.'' She rolled her eyes. ''I didn't think they still did those kinds of funerals for wolves.'' She shrugged her shoulders and gulped her wine down. I wonder if that does anything for her.

''Only for the royal family, but she might not even get lucky and have one.'' I sat back in the chair and said, ''You have anything I could use against her if she wanted something in return?'' She had a look on her face that I have seen a couple of times and I know it's something bad. Pity, heartbroken ran across her face and I think this will cause some issues later down the road.
