A Gallagher at heart

S1E1

Carl and you are the same age, both 10.
It was a sunny but cold day.
There was snow on the ground.
You heard Fiona come out of the bathroom and wake up the boys with a
"Seven fifteen, monkeys. Come on"
And she walked over to our door but Debbie, Liam, and You were already awake.
Debbie was playing with Liam and you were lying on your bed reading a book.
She walked in
"Seven fifteen"
is all she said and walked away Debbie got Liam out of the crib and You hopped off the bunk and walked downstairs with her.
You, debbie, and Liam sat at the table and that's when we heard
"First shower"
And then
"You had it yesterday"
and also running
"Fuck"
Lip said as he walked downstairs where we all were sitting at the table getting cereal and Fiona threw a box on the table
"Electric"
and the box gets passed around the table and everyone puts money in but Carl
"no, you got a happy meal on the front of that shirt"
you laugh
"Carl you can be so nasty sometimes"
Carl looks at you and sticks his tongue out at you
"Well at least i don't look like you"
Fiona walks over to Carl "arms up" and turns his shirt inside out
"i need something for show and tell"
debbie speaks up
"oh me too"
Fiona ignores our comments
"How short are we?"
Talking about this damn electric bill
"Eighteen dollars, thirty cents"
Debbie answers
lip: "im tutoring after school. Should be able to kick in 10 more."
Ian: "Wait did Carl put in any?"
As Fiona sticks a chair into the washer
debbie: "your almost ten you're gonna have to start pulling your weight" Fiona sits down next to Liam
Lip: "And try and get a real job, not just dipping into the collection at St. Tim's"
Shit, that's what i do
Fiona speaks up
"I'm filling in for candy. I can cover the rest."
as Fiona stares at Carl
"or i have 10 left"
You toss it in the box
"Thanks [Name] but somebody gotta take Liam"
[Name] and lip stood up at the same time
"uh, i got a calculus test"
Shit this fucker
"Im helping Mickey" (it was a lie you hadn't seen him for a while)
You walk over to the sink Ian shakes his head
"I'm working after school"
Fiona looks at Carl but then looks at debbie
"Show-And-Tell?"
Fiona looks back at Liam
"Show them the birthmark on his back. It looks like Latvia."
and hands Liam to her
"Hey, what about me?"
Fiona thinks
"Share Liam"
You run outside with Carl with debbie slumming behind cause she has Liam in a harness you and Carl are walking toward the school and you guys suddenly hear
"Hey, that's my fucking bike!"
You guys both stop and see Lip riding off with someone's bike. You guys turn back around and start laughing.

—Time skip—
You're back at the house and you and Debbie are in your beds. You can't sleep for some reason.
Sometimes nights you just have these random nightmares about your dad and they don't go away for a while.
You hate to close my eyes and dream about it.
But then You hear Vee (Veronica) and Fiona walk into the house.
You're so happy that they saved you from Your dreams.
Vee is saying something about Lake Forest not being in Chicago.
What the hell is going on?
You get off your bed and you see Debbie has the same idea so you guys go to the hallway where you see Ian, Lip, and Carl listening to what's going on.
You all walk down the stairs together and see that Vee is on the couch while a guy is sitting on the ground with some cuts on his head.
You and debbie sit in the armchair together and the man speaks up
"How many of you live here?"
Vee answers him
"Not me, I'm one down. But the old guy next door died in March which technically makes us next-door neighbors."
The man asks another question
"So you're a nurse?"
vee sighs
"used to be"
Fiona laughs
"lying bitch"

You and Debbie look at each other confused then lips start to speak
"She worked in housing in Cook County, changed bedpans and shit sheets."
Lip chuckles a little
"Fine but I was offered a place in the nursing school"
Vee bites back, Fiona bites back
"fine, but it never happened, they fired her for selling medical supplies on eBay."
Fiona smiles at her
"Will you shut up, we don't even know him"
Vee reptiles
"Steve"
The man speaks up and reaches his arm out to Carl
"Carl"
He says as he shakes Steve's hand lip then raises his beer and says his Name.
Fiona grabs Debbie's hair and speaks for her because she's drawing in her notebook and not paying attention.
"How are you doing debbie?"
Steve asks her
"Nice watch"
and Debbie decides to reply with
"Thank you, Panerai,"
Steve says back
"What'd that set you back about, six bills?"
Fiona looks at Steve and then points at Ian as he's walking down the stairs. "Plus Ian"
Steve looks back at him.
"Hey,"
Ian says nothing,
"And who are you?"
he points to you
''oh im [Name] I live here too I guess''
Steve looks confused
"She moved in with us a couple of months ago and she kinda just lives with us now"
Steve looks to you from Fiona
''oh ok well nice to you [Name]''
he then turns back to debbie
''hey, Debbie, why do they call him Lip?"
Fiona looks back at Steve from looking at you
"his real name is Phillip''
Then Kev (Kevin) burst through the door
"yo, Veronica, you got my keys?"
everyone looks to Kev
"what's going on here?''
Kev asks concerned vee looks at Kev
"This is Steve decked the bouncer at purgatory to defend my honor"
Fiona Snickers
"my honor"
Kev looks aggressively at Steve
''yeah? Which bouncer?''
Fiona interrupts
"Jimmy Clifton''
Kev looks from Steve to Fiona and back to Steve
"Jimmy cl—? Well, Jesus, man, put it there. Respect.''
They clap and shake hands. Steve looks at Fiona confused.
"Guy just stands there, doesn't do anything"
Kev sits down next to Lip
"Yeah, you'll be his third conviction. Third or fourth"
Steve looks at Fiona who laughs and gets up
"Uhh''
Steve says looking at Fiona worried
"Fourth, yeah I 'll after that much practice..."
You stopped listening after that and saw Fiona take a beer out of Carl's hand and take it to the kitchen Fiona came back in
"Okay, get ready for bed, up the wooden hill"
You look at her
"Awww come on Fiona"
Carl then looks at her too
"it's not even midnight"
Fiona looks back
"i don't care, come on, come on, go, move, move''
you walk up the stairs and see Kev stand up with Steve
''yeah, let you take one last look at you while you're still alive"
As Kev and Vee laugh, you go up to your bed, lie down, and finally find yourself able to sleep.
