"𝐇𝐈, 𝐑𝐈," Immediately, I'm sitting up from my bed. My stomach turns, but not in the way it usually does when I hear her voice. I'd had a bad feeling before, but from the rasp in her voice, its deepened.

Its just past midnight, and until now, I'd been laying on my back, trying to pin point exactly what was wrong. "Aspen?"

I hear her laugh to herself, winding blowing against her mic.

What the fuck was she doing outside at this time?

"Aspen, where are you?" I throw my legs over the side of my bed, already ready to go and get her from wherever the fuck she was.

"S'cold." She says softly, not sounding all there. I sigh heavily, standing up to find a shirt to put on. "I miss you," Fuck.

Fuck my life.

My throat tightens, forcing me to clear why throat. I could've been fucking fine if she didn't go and say that. But from the slur in her voice, and just the fact that she'd dared tell me something like that, I already know what's happened.

She'd avoided me for the rest of the day, just as she did before. It wasn't my place to tell her where she could and couldn't go, but I just hoped that she'd listen to me. Now she was here, drunk, and telling me shit like this that only makes me feel sick.

Over the phone, I hear her, sniffle, "You don't miss me?" She asks in a voice that just makes me fold in half. I'm at the bottom of the stairs, slipping my shoes on and fumbling for my keys that I'd now dropped after hearing her talk again.

"No, no, of course I do." I quickly reassure her. She may be drunk, but the way she genuinely sounded upset just forced me to comply with her.

What the fuck was she doing to me?

She sighs softly, and I hear voices approaching from the other side. "I didn't listen to you." Her voice is apologetic, as if she's being careful for me to not get mad.

Most of these parties are held at the same place, so I knew where to go. "I know." I mumble, hiding the irritation in my face of picturing her in such a place. I get into my car, quickly connecting my phone to the Bluetooth after starting it.

"Aspen, stay where you are. I'm coming to get you." I tell her, hoping for her to fucking listen to me.

"Yay," She murmurs tiredly, but I hear the voices and yells around her get louder, and I realise she's probably returned from wherever she was before.
