Angelica stared at her phone, with her thumb and index finger holding her face, unsure what to do with Brady's DM.

"Send something like hiiii, brady!" Mark suggested, making Asher whack his shoulder.

"You dumbass, she's not trying to scare him away." Asher argued, making them bicker, resulting in Tracie rolling her eyes and snatching Angelica's phone.

"Okay, i think by the looks of it, he's interested but he needs to look like he's not." Tracie explained, handing Angelica her phone back, and sitting next to her, ignoring Asher and Mark who were almost about to shoot each other.

"What do I say then?" Angelica asked Tracie, turning her head fully to look at her, and even Tracie was a bit stumped with what she had been given to work with - The two were always best friends, and Tracie was always better at romance then Angelica was, so when Angelica was in a situation like this, she always went to Tracie for advice.

"Well frankly, I think you should sa-" Asher began, before being cut off by Mark.

"Shut up, Asher!"

After about twenty minutes of the group arguing with each other, they crafted a message that should have taken about half a second instead of half an hour.

"Okay, do I send it?" Angelica asked, her thumb hovering over the send button, making Asher scoff.

"The message that says 'hey' with a smiley face? I don't think you can go wrong with that, buddy." He said, making Mark snort and Angelica hitting his arm.

"Okay, send it." Tracie told her. Angelica hovered over the button for a few milliseconds, before pressing the button and watching the message fly.

"Jesus, I left him on seen for almost half an hour. He's gonna think I'm stupid." Angelica groaned.

"He probably wasn't even looking. It's fine, don't worry." Asher brushed it off, flipping through his math homework, and turning left splitting from the group. "See you guys after school!" He yelled to the group behind him.

Angelica glanced towards Asher and waved slightly, and kept walking with Tracie and Mark, who were both preoccupied. Angelica scrolled through her TikTok feed a little before she was suddenly split away from Tracie and Mark, who both had AP Latin.

She headed to her class, which was just regular computer science, and was also the most boring thing in the world.

She swung the door open and plopped her things down at her desk and pulled out her phone, trying to sneakily use it in the limited area she had.

Once the class started, she stuck one AirPod in her left ear, and blasted SZA into her ear and scrolled through her Instagram, but really only paying attention to the message button in the top right.

Angelica sat in her desk, barely listening to what her teacher was saying, and checking her Instagram DMs every two seconds like an idiot. God, she was embarrassing herself.

She knew that she couldn't let herself fall for Brady for real, or else all she would be doing is hurting herself and Brady.

So in the middle of her computer science class, she made the goal of refusing to fall for Brady.

Fool proof, right?
