Tarun in future:
Tumse milke, dil ka hai jo haal kya kare,
Ho gaya hai kaisa ye kamaal kya kare.------
POV TARA
Ughhh! I am so freaking tired. Since morning, we’ve been giving our introductions to every single teacher, and I seriously don’t understand why they are so interested in our names. It’s like they are conducting an FBI background check before letting us sit in their class.
And to make things worse, it’s Economics period right now—the subject I hate the most. Who even invented this nonsense? If I ever find that person, I swear I will personally send them a long, emotional hate letter before making them sit through their own lecture.
I checked the clock. Five more minutes till school ends. Five. Long. Painful. Minutes. My eyes were fighting a losing battle against sleep, and honestly, if someone had offered me a bed right now, I would have given them my entire savings (which is just 200 rupees, but still). I was debating whether to just sleep on my desk when the best sound in the world echoed in my ears—the school bell.
And soon after everyone rushed out like prisoners escaping jail, but I? I just sat there like a lifeless potato.
"Oye Maharani, school itna accha lag raha hai kya jo yahin baith gayi?"Shivi said, smirking.
(Oh, Queen, do you love school so much that you're sitting here?)I groaned. "Shivu, I don’t have the energy to move. Please call Manav bhai, he’ll come and pick me up."
Shivi suddenly leaned in close and whispered in my ear, "Instead of calling Manav bhai, should I call Tarun bhai? He’ll happily do the honors."
'Huh?!' I jumped up as if someone had electrocuted me. "Guys, let's go!" I said quickly, walking away at light speed.
From behind, I heard Ishita ask,"What happened to her?"
"Nothing. Let’s go." Shivi replied, giggling.

So here we were—me, Shivi, and Tiya—standing under the blazing sun, waiting for the kings of our school to grace us with their presence.
Ishita and Mahi had already left with their drivers 10 minutes ago, and here we were, melting in the heat like ice cream on a summer day.
Shivi turned to Tiya with a mischievous grin. "Tiya, for whom are you waiting?"
Tiya turned red. "Ahh… I’m waiting for Tarun. My parents are out of station, so I’ll be staying at his place for a few days. We’re relatives cum family friends."
Shivi nodded, while I noticed the royal F4 finally descending the stairs. Gracefully. Like they were filmy heroes walking in slow motion with a dramatic background score playing behind them.
I rolled my eyes. "Lo aa gaye maharaj. Sharam nahi aati bhai? Tumhari bechari behen itni der se dhoop mein khadi hai aur tum aaram se ramp walk kar rahe ho."
(Oh look, the kings have arrived. Have some shame, Bhai! Your poor sister is standing in the sun for so long, and you’re casually walking down like a model.)Rahul bhai smirked. "Arey, what happened to this Jhansi ki Rani?"
Shivi snickered. "Nothing. She just has a headache—thanks to Economics."
Everyone chuckled while I shot death glares at Shivi.
Manav bhai sighed. "Okay, rabbit, give me your bag and wait here. I’ll bring the bike."
"Come fast!" I said dramatically, handing him my bag like a spoiled princess.
Tiya, who was watching all this, smiled dreamily. "Manav bhai really takes care of you, Tara."
I smirked. "Don’t worry. One day, he’ll take care of you too." I winked.
Tiya’s face turned tomato red. *Mission Tease Tiya: Successful.*

Soon, the boys arrived with their bikes, and as expected, all the schoolgirls were openly gawking at them.
I won’t lie—the four of them did look handsome, but for some reason, Tarun was looking… extra handsome today. Not that I care!
Before I could react, Manav smacked my head. "Chal, baith abhi. Kis ka wait kar rahi hai?"
(Come, sit now. Who are you waiting for?)I pouted. "Monkey, I’ll tell Dad that you hit me."
Manav rolled his eyes. "Ja ja, drama queen."
One by one, we all left:
- Rajveer bhai & Shivi in front.
- Me & Manav behind them.
- Tarun & Tiya following us.
- Rahul bhai, all alone, like a Bollywood hero whose heroine left him.Since we all lived in the same society—me and Shivi in Block A, and Tarun and Rahul in Block B—the ride home was quick.
*******
As soon as I stepped inside, I dramatically threw myself on the sofa. The first word that left my mouth was—
"Mummyyyyyy, where are you?"
This is mandatory.Since childhood, the first thing I do after coming home is find Mumma.
Mom walked out from the kitchen. "I’m here, darling."
She smiled. "How was your first day at school, baby?"She ruffled my hair.
I grinned. "It was good! You know, Monkey had a basketball match today, and he and his friends won!"
Mom gasped. "Oh wow! That’s great! Now go freshen up while I heat up lunch."
"Yesss, you know I’m starving!" I ran upstairs.
From behind, I heard Manav mumble, "You’re always hungry."
I ignored him. Food was more important.
******
After changing, I rushed downstairs before Manav so I could grab the TV remote first.
And to my luck, he wasn’t there yet. Victory!
I quickly switched to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC)—my all-time favorite show while eating.
Manav entered, saw the TV, and groaned. "Not TMKOC again!"
I smirked. "Deal with it, Monkey."
And just like that, the rest of the day was filled with our usual bickering, arguing, and me being lazy while Monkey did all the work.
