PLEASE DON'T HURT ME

I know, I'm a horrible human being for leaving you guys like that for I don't even know how long. I hope you guys haven't lost interest and I hope you really like this chapter.

I actually have a really good excuse for disappearing on you guys, and I'm totally willing to share it with you guys if you want. The only thing is, I have a feeling that some of you won't want to know, or will say that I'm only looking for pity, and really, I have enough of that...so, if any of you guys want to know why I abandoned you guys for a few months, just tell me in the comments and I'll put it in the next update. If not, that's totally fine.

So anyways, here is a very long awaited chapter that I hope you guys enjoy.

As much as Katie hated to admit it, she had a lot of fun with Travis.

And as much as she hated complementing him, he was an amazing actor.

But then again, so was she.

After hours of chasing each other around, making new friends and stuffing themselves, Argus was finally called to come and pick up the six.

As the girls were handing out goodbye hugs, Jen said something that shocked Katie.

"I'm glad Travis finally asked you out. He was constantly talking about you. And you're good for him."

Jen smiled as they pulled away, moving over to hug Nyssa.

But several things were now racing through Katie's mind as they headed back towards Camp Half-Blood. All because of three sentences.

First of all, it was upsetting to say that Katie nearly forgot that they were fake-dating. She hadn't minded when Travis had picked her up and used her as a shield when they were in a Nerf war, when he threw grapes up in the air for her to catch in her mouth, when he had his arm lazily pressed over her shoulder as he told his friends about the latest pranks.

And she got mad at herself. How dare she let herself get pulled in!

But the second worrisome thing confused her even more. Why the hell would Travis be talking about her. Unless he was gloating about how angry he could get her, it didn't make sense.

And then it hit her. It was possible Travis hadn't even mentioned her name, but instead had described the girl. And the only other girl who would ever be on Travis's mind with brown hair and green eyes... was Elizabeth.

She was technically the only reason Travis had even bothered asking Katie for help.

She was the only reason Katie was getting her emotions messed with.

And Katie knew this was something she was doing to help Travis get her back. She knew she had to stop acting like this was real and just pay attention to playing the part.

But looking at Travis, who shot her a wink from the other side of the van where he was lounging as she looked at him, she knew it would be easier said than done.

***

"Rise and shine, sweetheart."

Katie slowly lifted her face from where it had just been smashed against the floor of her cabin. The irritated teen rolled over onto her back to see Travis standing above her with a grin that she so badly yearned to smack of his face.

"You're a real dick, you know that?" she muttered angrily, pushing herself up and punching him in the gut as she stalked past him towards her closet.

Travis' groan made the corners of her lip lift up. But his next words make her scowl. "Oh, come on, Kitty. What girl doesn't want her boyfriend coming to wake her up?"

She spun around to face him, wringing the shirt she had pulled down from the closet in her hands to stop them from strangling him. "There's only one thing wrong with that, honey," Katie shot a glare. "You're not my boyfriend."

Travis smirked. "Maybe not, but we all know you wish I was."

That was the last straw. Katie lunged forward, smacking him with her previously wound up shirt. With a shove, he toppled onto the floor, where she continued to beat him with the clothing. Travis blocked feebly, all the while laughing like the idiot he was.

Finally, he got a grip on her hands, holding them in the air as she struggled to break free of his hold. "I don't know, Kit-Kat. Anyone walking in here would get the wrong idea. I mean, we are already breaking the rules by being the only ones in here."

Katie blew the hair out of her face angrily, glaring down at the son of Hermes.

"What did you even wake me up for?" she groaned, yanking her hands free as Travis loosened his grip, having seen the signs of her defeat.

"Oh, we're competing in the Scavenger Hunt today."

"That doesn't start until this afternoon! You couldn't have waited?!"

"Nope." And there was that smug grin again.

"I hate you, you know that," Katie fumed as she grabbed a pair of shorts and stormed towards the bathroom to change.

"You love me," she heard him call behind her as she slammed he door shut.

"Screw off!"

She heard him laughing as he left her cabin to go to who knows where. The demigod sighed as she thumped her head against the door a few times. What did I do that was so bad to deserve this?
