"HI DAD," Lay smiled when her father walked into the kitchen. She was currently cooking a family dinner at her parent's home, it was around five in the afternoon.
Her grandmother was in town and she wanted everyone together, so everyone was at the house.
'Everyone' was including Dalaney, Ezrah, Daila, Zion, Milan, her aunt, Kafeya, her grandmother, Taraji, and Zion's girlfriend, Selma.
Dalaney wanted to invite Judah but he wasn't answering her calls, and that was a hour ago so she wouldn't bother it anymore. She did text to ask if he was okay.
"Wassup princess, y'all 'bout done?" He said causing Taraji to turn away from the stove to give her son a blank stare.
"Boy take your hungry ass on!" Taraji fussed causing Lay to laugh.
"We're almost done dad, who winning the game?"
"You already know the panthers losing, they been dragging all season," Ezrah shook his head.
"Aye, why you ain't bring that nigga you talking to?" Ezrah asked, wanting to meet the male that had been taking up so much of his daughter's time.
"He's working, I did invite him though," She explained as she plated the crispy pieces of fried chicken, not truly knowing what Judah was doing.
"Nigga? What lil boy you talking to Lay?" Taraji asked causing Lay to smile a bit.
"Y'all gon' stop lil boy-ing him, just messy," Lay said causing her grandmother to laugh.
"Buttttt, his name is Judah, he's so sweet and handsome," Lay smiled causing Taraji to raise her eyebrows at her granddaughter's antics, she had never seen the girl get so smiley when talking about someone.
"Okay, Okay, How old is he?"
"Twenty-six,"
"You don't think he's a bit old for you? You're nineteen," Taraji questioned causing Lay to furrow her eyebrows.
