THE DAY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

the next morning, (Y/N) sees Martin working hard at his desk. She slowly sits up to see coffee with an envelope next to it on Li's desk. She picks it up to see cash inside. She looks shocked and says, " I can't take this, Dad." Li chuckled and said, "You can, and you will." (Y/N) walked to her dad who turned to face her, "I'll pay you back, soon." she said not having the best confidence in herself. lee stood up and smiled, " just ask for help next time. okay" he said. (Y/N) nodded before Martin hugged her, (Y/N) embraced the hug and let out a small cry as she felt like her whole world was crashing down. Li, let go of the hug but still had his hand on her shoulder, " you are so much like your mother. " he said chuckling making (Y/N) smile while wiping away her tears. " you have to learn to swallow that pride of yours and accept that you're human. Like your sister." Martin said. (Y/N) was confused by that comment before Liz walked in. " (Y/N)" she said with a smile. they hug each other as Martin steps back, "You okay? dad told me what happened. I'm so sorry" Liz said. " it's okay Liz. I'll be okay" (Y/N) said as they let go of each other but Martin walked up to them. "Girls I need total to you okay?  just wanted to let you know I'm headed out of town. may will be in charge while I'm gone. " Martin said. both his daughter looked shocked but remained calm. " okay, how long will you be away, Dad?" Liz asked. "  for a while. but I'll be back for you two soon. I promise." Martin said. " is everything okay?" (Y/N) asked. " it's some personal business I've been planning for a while. don't worry about me, look after each other until I get back. okay?" Martin said. both Liz and (Y/N) their head making Li smile. " you two are amazing. I love you" Martin said "We love you too Dad" (Y/N) said with a smile as Martin kissed his daughter's head before heading to the door. he stopped in his tracks, "Girls, please take care of this place. It represents the best part of me." li said as he looked around the place before leaving. 

then (Y/N)'s phone rings. " I need to take this. wait here I'll be back,  " she said to Liz before leaving the office. she answers the phone to hear it's Peter. " hello" (Y/N) said. " hey. did you see our story?" Peter said referring to His and MJ's article." I did. Robbie must be pretty happy right now." (Y/N) replied with a smile. " yeah. it's kinda went viral. and get this -- mayor osborn just announced he's going to give Officer Davis an award this afternoon. " Peter said. " wow. wait -- isn't Osborn's campaign rally this after..." (Y/N) started but realized what was going on. " oh. I see what he's doing." (Y/N) said making Peter chuckle a little. " yeah. we all do. but still, a pretty cool moment for Officer Davis and his family. I'll be there covering it for MJ, she has other things to do. -- want to join me?" Peter asks. (Y/N) nodded, "Yeah. of course. " (Y/N) said. "see you there." Peter said before hanging up the phone. 

(Y/N) walks back into the Li's office and says to Liz "Hey, Liz. I'm going to help Peter with something at the osborn rally. I'll text you when I'm finished and we will have dinner together tonight. Sound good?" (Y/N) asks. " yeah. that's fine. don't like Norman anyway." Liz said as she crossed her arms. " because of what happened to our mother?" (Y/N) asked. Liz slowly nodded her head. (Y/N) wrapped ar arm around Liz's shoulder, " I get it. I don't like Norman either, but I'm not going to let him get to me, okay?" (Y/N) said. Liz sighed and smiled a little, " okay." Liz said quietly. " okay. I'll see you later." (Y/N) said before giving her a small hug. She picked up her backpack and left the FEAST centre. 

(Y/N) walked outside and started heading towards the rally. " Ugh. it's so humiliating to take money from Dad." (Y/N) said with a sigh before a voice message came through on her phone. " it's a message from Doc." (Y/N) said to herself before holding her phone to her ear, " (Y/N). I don't want to jinx us but... the lead I'm following might not only get the project back on its feet but also expand it in ways we never could have imagined. everything happens for a reason even. Norman pulling our plug." Doctor Otto said. (Y/N) smiled brightly, " really hope this works out; doc's work is too important to go unfinished." (Y/N) said as she turned a corner before her phone went off again.
