He looks out into the forest in surpise. His heart fluttered at the kiss so, why did he leave? Did Lightning do something wrong? No, Lightning's a great kisser. Wait, the man Lightning is in love with just kissed him. THE MAN HE'S IN LOVE WITH JUST KISSED HIM!!! He had to be dreaming, he just had to be. He did feel the same way! But, why did he say he didn't feel the same way? That doesn't matter right now, he had to find his husband to be. Lightning quickly made his way off of the porch and went into the woods just like Scott. He searched for a while and listened to the birds and bugs as he passed. The woods are a lot quieter than what he was used to in day to day life. It was nice but he still had to find Scott. He couldn't have gone far.
"Scott!! The Sha-Lightning is looking for you!!" He called out.
He eventually heard what sounded like quiet sobs coming from above. He looked up to see an old broken down tree house. The sobs were coming from there, was someone lost up there? He started climbing up the some what broken latter leading up the tree and finally entered the building. He looked around and could just barely make out Scott in the darkness. "Scott?" He quietly asked and the man looked up at him.
Scott wiped his tears. "You weren't supost to see that" He says as Lightning sits down next to him.
"Scott... were you sha-crying?" He questioned. He had never seen his friend anywhere near that vulnerable.
"No... no, it's just allergies and stuff"
"It's sha-okay to cry Scottie. What were you crying about?"
"Why do you ask so many questions?" He snaps back.
Lightning goes quite. The sound of nature fills the room as the two are at a lost of words. The only light in the room is a little moonlight coming in through a window. It would be peaceful if it wasn't for the tension between the two. Lightning moves closer to Scott and finally breaks the silence.
"Was it.... the kiss? Did you not like it?" He questioned.
"What?! No, I loved the kiss it's just..." He starts, Lightning can see what almost seems like pain in his eyes. Is this the same guy he met on a TV show all those years ago?
"What? You can sha-tell me anything" Lightning said, trying to comfort the love of his life.
"My...my pops...he...he wasn't..I. no nevermind, it's stupid" He stuttered out.
"Hey, if anyone knows a thing about bad dads, it's Sha-Lightning" He said and placed a hand on Scott's hand. Scott smiled at him. A warm smile in sharp contrast to the cool night air around them.
Scott's smile dropped as he began to speak, "He...I just...uh...he wasn't...he wasn't the most...supportive of gay people...I guess...it kinda stuck with me. Only to myself! I would never force that onto other people"
Silence fell onto them again. Scott looks away from Lightning's eyes as Lightning tries to look into Scott's. Scott has never be this vulnerable about this to anyone ever, he's not used to it. Lightning was kind of hurt that Scott thought that way, expectally about himself. But he also knew where he was coming from. While his dad didn't care that he was gay, he still put unreasonable expectations onto him. Always winning, being good at everything athletically, it's a lot to put onto a kid. He had to be physically active always and he never got a moment to himself. He didn't realize the pressure he was under when he was younger and a lot stupider. Now, the only way he could ever get into college was through a sport's scholarship and even then he wouldn't be smart enough to pass a single test there. Lightning shock the thoughts of his past away and focused on the present. He finally broke the silence.
"Scott, you know it's sha-okay to be gay right?" He asked and Scott nodded.
"Yeah, I know it's just...his words stuck to me...they yell at me when ever I even think about men"
Scott's pov
Lightning pulled Scott into a hug. The unexpected warmth surrounded Scott and he jumped a little. Scott hesitated before hugging him back. It's just like on the bean bags, the same warmth, the same breathing, the same heartbeat, the same man he caught feelings for. The same man he sinned for. He loved him didn't he? He felt a tear run down his check. He was crying again. He was so vulnerable with this man. He felt free to talk about anything with him.
