Trinity closed her eyes and cried profusely in pain. She continued to moan in distress as the tears trickled down and tore violently at her eyelids. The sobs echoed from her throat leaving her extremely overwhelmed with the news. Daniel the love of her life was married with a family. How could he do this to her? She had no idea and the reality of the situation left her with mixed emotions of shock and anger. Time and time again she gave her heart to be trampled upon and shattered into pieces. This heartbreak tore at her inner core because she really thought she had a future with Daniel.

Trinity fell at the foot of the bed shaking sporadically at the heavy load. She felt used, tricked and purely taken advantage of. She screamed out in agony tormented by it all. Her heart was beating so rapidly she could feel it hammering aggressively near her ribcage. "God, why does this keep happening to me?" she declared whaling in self-pity. All the men who had entered her life took from her and drained her emotionally. However, this by far was more deceptive and calculating. She never dreamed that this man would claim to love her and proposed knowing they did not have a future together.

No longer with tears to cry, Trinity sat in her bed shaking vigorously wiping her puffy and swollen eyes. Trinity felt dazed and dizzy as she laid in a fetal position in bed coming to terms with her new reality.

Meanwhile, Elijah knocked repeatedly on Trinity's door anxiously wanting to see how she was doing. They had been friends from elementary school and he cherished her so much. Elijah was also shocked and angry too about Daniel's betrayal and deception. He really started to believe Trinity had found someone who would treat her well. Elijah only wanted Trinity to be happy. His jaw tensed thinking how his gut was telling him early on the smooth talker was a pretender and manipulator. Trinity, was so much in love with Daniel so he simply supported his best friend. Elijah knew the charlatan had broken her heart. He often wondered why Trinity opened her heart so easily to get hurt. She was beautiful, successful and kind. However, she kept choosing the wrong men. He wished that she realized one day that what she was searching for was right before her eyes. He knew he could give her the love she deserved.

Elijah hated that she simply saw him only as a friend. He had been in love with her for years and hoped one day she would fall head over heels in love with him. He recalled when he playfully suggested that they date. Of course, Trinity brushed it off because she saw him more like a brother.

"Trinity," Elijah called out her name getting nervous. She refused to answer and he continued to wonder if she was okay. Elijah panicked after not hearing her answer his call. He searched for the hidden key he knew about and opened the door in search of his friend. Elijah desperately walked through the house searching each room. When he arrived in the bedroom his heart sank and raw emotions made him reach out to comfort her. Seeing her in a fetal position broke his heart in a million pieces. He knew she was hurting and there was nothing he could do about it. Elijah thought about a trillion different ways he could hurt Daniel for doing this. However, he repented knowing violence was not the answer. "Go away," Trinity sobbed looking up at Elijah. She felt broken and embarrassed about the situation.

Elijah could not recognize her face. It appeared swollen and covered with her hair. He pulled the covers over her and pulled her next to him. "You are not getting rid of me that easily," he stated gently wiping her face. "Elijah, I was so stupid for believing him," she confessed.

"You are not stupid. He tricked all of us. None of this is your fault," Elijah reassured her. "It may seem hard now but you will bounce back from this," Elijah continued to encourage her.

Trinity looked at him grateful for his presence. He was one of the elements in her life that was consistent. Elijah never let her down. Elijah embraced her and she broke once again. The sobs and groans came over her strongly and she could feel him tightening his grip around her. Trinity felt peace and comfort in his arms. She wrapped her arms around him and cried her eyes out.
