We can only exist in the shadows now. Under the cloak of Orion, and craved into the moon.
His touch will linger for as long as I can force it— not nearly as long as I'll need. The pain of loss, it clings to both of us, but for now, we will hold each other in the daylight, bracing for the coming darkness. The everlasting gloom, and curse of loneliness.
I'll wear the chain that binds me to him forever, and him me, because as much as we try and deny one another, we are one. Made to fit in and fill the cracks that life has made in our hearts. I am only whole when he is near me, and now, as we kiss in this, our last dawn I can already feel the ache of perpetual emptiness creeping in.
I run my fingers through his hair and breathe him in, trying to memorize everything, from his scent to the pallor of his skin.
