Rishi's POV

"Yeah... I'll talk to you later",I disconnected the call, standing against the cafeteria counter as Kyra walked towards me.

"What's up? Why did you call me here?" she asked as we walked to the nearest table.

"A few formalities...", I spoke as she looked at me with curiosity in her eyes.

"Have you started looking for clubs you are interested in?"

My question caught her off guard and she finally realised what I was talking about.

"You said you didn't mean that?" she asked.

"Kyra... I'm not holding anything against you. I feel you should do what you really like", I clarified.

We haven't got the chance to discuss things that were left hanging after last night.

She was lost in thoughts, deeply calculating something.

"Do I really have to do this...", she dragged.

"Why?"

"I suck at engaging with people and this means I have to go it all over again", she confessed, slightly embarrassed.

I chuckled hearing her excuse.

She's afraid to switch clubs just because of socialization?

"You still don't love the club, Kyra. Let's try this. How about you tag along Aditi to the finance club?" I suggested.

"But what if I get stuck there?" she asked, still uncertain.

"I'll get you a free pass to test run clubs of your choice", I offered.

"Does your free pass mean trouble?"

Of course, she would ask that after all the adventures and chases we've done.

"No, it's the straight route this time. I'm talking to the administrator", I laughed, putting an end to her problems.

"You would do that for me?

"Yeah, we are friends, remember?"

She glanced at me differently. Not the usual 'I wanna kill you for crossing paths with me' way.

It felt familiar.... sending a shiver down my spine.

"Can I ask you something?" she spoke but I can see it on her face that she's still contemplating it.

"Sure, Kiki"

"The person you mentioned yesterday..."

My breath caught up at the very mention of it.

"...is it someone so special to you?" she questioned. Her eyes had a glint of anticipation and fear.

"Yeah... She was-", I halted, grasping my pendant.

There was a lot to talk about....

"But there's no use talking about it now. She's gone. And I know I can never find her again"

I smiled weakly at Kyra who was taken aback by this piece of confession.

"I'm sorry", she uttered.

"No, it's not your fault", I chuckled, trying to get my mind off it.

I need to be here in this moment. I don't wanna fuck this up.

"Let's get something to drink", she changed the topic, attempting to lighten up the mood.

She reached for my hand, gently squeezing it offering comfort.

There lies the testimony to my faith that she wasn't this cruel person and I can trust her again.
