Kazuki's POV:
"Sure. I'd love to do it if that's what the fans want."
I remember standing completely still in my room. D-did she just say she wanted to collab? There's no way my literal idol is asking to collab with me.
Wait, she didn't know it was I, Kazuki from middle school.
There's no way. Absolutely no way.
I remember taking a deep breath. It was fine, obviously she was just saying that to make the fans happy. I don't believe for a second she's willing to collab with me-
I received a letter the next day. It was details to a contract for a livestream between Ayumu and I. My manager added a little extra note at the end.
"I always knew you were a big fan."
I sighed, there's no way I could say no to that. If I did, she would think that I hated her. But if I said yes, she might realize who I am...
And if you were in my shoes you would realize that would be really embarrassing.
Just imagine it...
"Oh Kazuki you're an idol? Is it because you've liked me since middle school and you're chasing after me in the industry?"
Or...
"Oh Kazuki you're an idol? Wow, I didn't realize that you lied to me the entire time in middle school saying you couldn't dance or sing. I don't want to talk to you anymore.'
Or even worse...
"Oh Kazuki? We met in middle school? I don't really remember that sorry..."
Do you get what I mean?
So I did what any sane person would do when they're not ready to meet the person they look up to.
"No thanks."
I stared up at the large building of Lantis Record Studios. Somehow my manager dragged me over to the studio despite me denying the contract.
I made my way up elevator to the floor where the stream was supposed to be. I was greeted warmly by staff and even a few of her fellow idol groupmates. Her manager was Yu Takasaki, her childhood best friend. Also someone I went to middle school with.
My brain was torn in two.
On one half I was kind of hoping she'd remember me from middle school, being the only other person I could even remember from middle school...
But at the same time I was hoping that she didn't remember me because it would just seem that I really was following after Ayumu this whole time!
Now you might ask, "Weren't you doing this anyways so you could follow her?"
To which my answer is yes, but no. I wanted to do it to get close again, but I just ended up becoming a super fan. You know watching her from afar. I decided I just wanted to continue supporting her and planned to drop out. But without me realizing, I soon grew to the top of the charts before I could quit being an idol.
Pretty stupid huh.
But that's just the way life is. It doesn't go how you expect it to go.
For example...
"Um... are you Kazuki-kun? From middle school?"
