Talia is waiting in the living room and sitting on the couch, she looks quite annoyed when you walk in, she immediately notices the state the boy must've been in for him to be sleeping now.
"I hope you made his tears stop" her voice is cold and firm. "I did and ma'am would it be okay if I went with Damian when he lives with his father?" The male asks softly, his voice filled with respect. For a moment the woman's expression softens, but just as quickly she looks away.
"That is an unreasonable request, you cannot possibly expect to accompany the prince to his father's home just for the reason of being his friend or whatever it is he seems to consider you. He'll be fine on his own."
The male scoffs "You heard how he reacted to the thought of me leaving him." The male leans against the door frame as he glares at Talia. "And who's fault is that?" she answers sharply, her expression grows cold yet again, her dark eyes meet yours and she continues "You babied him, he is no longer that innocent little three year old you took in."
"Yours for not raising him yourself" the male says firmly. "This never would have happened if you didn't asign me to him or if you had the balls to raise the boy. The boy that YOU wanted." Talia's eyes narrow in anger, the man has hit a nerve there, he's right. She hasn't cared for the boy, she pushed his training and didn't bother to get to know him.
She's been a crappy mother."Please? Please let him keep the only parental figure he has in his life, his only constant" the male begs as he really doesn't want to deal with another one kf Damian's tantrums. Talia grits her teeth, she hates her own words, but deep down you're right.
She sighs and looks away, she gives in."Fine. But don't expect to be able to do whatever you want" she says after a brief moment of silence. "Of course" the male bows his head before leaving the room to tell Damian the news.
When he returns, he sees the boy who looks very peaceful as he peacefully sleeps.
It'll be difficult to wake him up now that he's so relaxed, but it doesn't take much before the boy opens up his eyes, he sees his guardian by his side, which immediately brings a smile on his face."You talked to mother?" he finally asks in a raspy voice as he sits up. "I did" the male sits down on the bed near Damian "she agreed to let me go with you, but I still have to carry out my duties as your guard."
The boy's bright face grows wider into a massive grin, he can't help but feel overjoyed; he immediately pulls his protector into another hug.
"Thank you, M/N" the boy cries out as he hugs you tight "this means a lot to me, I promise you, nothing can take me away from you. Never.""I know, I know Damian. But one day you're going to have to let me go" M/N whispers. "No I won't" the boy answers sharply, a bit upset now.
He refuses to hear those words. He doesn't want to imagine a scenario where he loses you, and he doesn't want to accept the fact that one day, that will happen.
"I'll never let you go!""You will when you're older and you'll no longer need me" the male says softly as he stokes Damian's hair to try and calm him down. "I won't" the boy continues to say, he tries his hardest not to sound like a clingy child, but he is.
He doesn't want to let you go. You took care of him and helped him.
"I don't care how old I get, you're staying with me" he replies with determination."Oh? Don't I get a say in this?" The male asks in a teasing tone while he pulls away from Damian. The boy smirks a bit and his face grows more mature, he's still an immature child, but the way he acts now is not nearly as childish as when you first met him.
"No" he answers in a more serious tone "you're not leaving me""So possessive for such a young boy. I don't think I raised you to be like this.... must've learned this from your mother" the male says with a sigh. The boy scowls, he's not happy with your last comment "It doesn't even have to do with mother, you're the only person who's ever stuck by my side. You're everything to me and I'm not letting you run away. I'll keep you under lock and key if that's what it takes."
He still speaks with that same determination as before. "You're what? Fourteen? How much power fo you truly have?" The male huffs."I turn fifteen in two months." He replies, the fact that you're still older than him just fuels his fire.
He knows he can't do much, he knows he has no actual power, yet the thought of you leaving him one day makes him grow angry.
"And I'll find a way to keep you by my side." The male rolls his eyes at the younger male's statements "right, well let me know when you figure that out.The teen laughs a little, he does know it's a bit childish to be this clingy but he can't help himself.
"Fine, then" he replies in a slightly mocking tone "I guess I'll just never mature and keep you locked up in my room 'til I'm 60"
The boy is trying to be funny, despite this serious topic. "I'll be dead by the time you're 60 Damian" the male deadpans."Well let's pretend you'll live that long" he snarks, he wants you around for as long as possible, and he'll do what he can to keep you by his side.
"You're not going anywhere, and that's final!""When did my sweet little Damian go to be such a possessive ass?" The male huffs as he falls back onto the bed. "I'm not being possessive, and I'm not little" he tries to look angry but just ends up looking goofy, the way he's behaving right now looks a bit cute, in a way.
His expression softens a little."I just don't want to be abandoned again" he says "please, don't leave me like this, I need you."
"You don't need me Damian, you haven't needed me for years" the male says softly. "I- I do need you though!" the boy responds sharply and his eyes narrow, he doesn't like you trying to brush him off when he needs you."Do you know what it feels like to have someone actually love you and then suddenly have them ripped away? I can't deal with it anymore, I can't" He looks at you seriously now "I don't want a new parental figure, I have you."
"You don't. You can cook, clean, fight, kill, and live without me" the male starts to get a little frustrated with Damian. The boy scowls, that's not the point at all.
"I know I can but I don't want to" he answers softly "sure, I'm capable of doing all of these things without you but why would I want to when you're the one who raised me and cared for me all these years? Do you think I'm going to ditch you?""That's fair, and I'll stick around until you're 18 then I'm leaving because you're a legal adult."
"I- fine" the boy gives in, you're right, he'll be an adult by then and shouldn't be clinging to you as much.
He nods.
"Alright, I get it. But until I'm eighteen, I'm being clingy as hell"The male rolls his eyes "fine, fine. But let's go met your father" the male stands up and stretches. "I don't want to meet him" he replies as he stands up as well, he pulls away and scowls "I don't want to be shipped off to where he is, I want to stay here, I just want to stay here" he repeats, he seems angry.
His words make it sound like he doesn't want anything to change, ever.
