Ringing

Chapa get's injured. (after affects) 

Tw: 

*4 months ago.*

The Omega Weapon exploded. Chapa went flying. 

Chapa heard a ringing in her ears, then nothing. 

She tried not to panic, she convinced herself that her hearing would come back soon, that it was fine. 

When it didn't, stood up, a little off balance but she acted like she was fine. 

*time skip. (sorry.)*

Chapa went home, she told her parents what happened, minus the 'powers' part. 

She told them a bad guy shot something at her, that she dogged, and that it left a ringing in her ears. 

They took her to the doctor. 

She left with a book or sign language, and the phone number of a therapist who could teach her how to read lips, or something. 

As it turns out, she was amazing at reading lips, so she rarely needed sign language. She still learned quickly. 

She never thought anybody would find out. 

Until now. 

*Present day.*

Chapa was sitting in S.W.A.G, getting yet, another lesson on fighting crime. She was trying to pay attention, really. But it was hard to concentrate when Ray kept turning around to face the board. 

Chapa's eyes drifted to a random point on the wall. 

Mika's hand shot up. Chapa didn't care. 

She was very bored. 

Then she saw Mika looking at her. She looked at the others, she had no idea what was going on. She looked at Ray. 

"Sorry, I wasn't listening, what's up?" She said.

She read Ray's lips. "I asked you if you were okay, you've been acting weird."

In truth, she was having a hard time concentrating. She was tired and not sleeping well. 

"I'm fine." She answered. "Really."

Before Ray could talk, the crime alert went off. 

Chapa rolled her eyes, of course. 

She went up to the Mans Nest and jumped off her chair. 

She ran to go look over Mika's shoulder. 

Some people were robbing some store. Easy enough. 

They transformed and AWOL teleported them to the store. 

They ran into the store. 

Ray yelled something. 

The two people looked scared. One of them signed to the other. 

'These people are so stupid. We'll go get the merchandise later, let's just run.'

It took Chapa a fraction of a second to realize their plan. She zapped them. They fell down, unconscious. 

Everyone was staring at her. 

"What?"

'They were surrendering! What'd you do that for?!'  Mika said.

"They were using sign language. They said they were going to come back later. They also called us stupid..." She trailed off. She forgot that the others didn't know she knew sign language.
