The scene starts with Izuku petting Eri who is still sleeping on his lap while the others watch curiously at what they're seeing. If you're wondering if Izuku and Eri are in the shade, they are. The Kakushi were kind to give Izuku a paper parasol big enough for them and Mamaru to sit in until Master Ubuyashiki returned. Some of the Hashira are still cautious since Eri and Mamaru are... you know demons. Kanae wasn't concerned though, and was the first to approach.
Kanae: If it's okay with Izuku, may I pat her head?
Izuku: *Nods* Sure.
Kanae knees down as she strokes Eri's head gently. Eri feels this and smiles in her sleep leaving some people in awe.
Uzui: *To Izuku* Where did you find her anyway?
Izuku: Back at Mt.Natagumo when Tanjiro and I were sent flying by Lower Moon 4 Muscular, we saw her in the bushes hiding from us. She looked timid when we first saw her.
Kanae: Does she have a name?

Some of the Hashira were taking a back a little feeling a little sympathy for Eri.
