Infinity Castle Arc Part 2:Heart of the Flame and Ice

Two weeks ago before the attack, Yuki and Shoto and Yuki were walking down a path back to their house as Yuki was talking with her brother.

Yuki: So Sho. How's your training?

Shoto: I've been improving myself for a while now. But it's not enough.

Yuki: Well I hope you get stronger, Sho, because I can't wait for that rematch.

Shoto: You're on Yu.

They start laughing a little when Yuki and Shoto see Yuki's crow in the sky and lands on her arm as Yuki takes the piece of paper that was in its beak.

Yuki: *😮* A latter.

Shoto: Who's it from?

Yuki: *Opens it and Eyes widen* It's from Mom!

Shoto: *Eyes widen*

They two then read the latter.

Rei: Hello Shoto and Yuki. It's been quite some time since you two were home. I miss you. Natsuo and Fuyumi as well. But I'm giving you this as a form of giving information. A few days ago, your siblings and I came home from the neighboring town and found your father...dead...

Shoto: W-What?

Yuki: T-This can't be.

Rei: His body had multiple burn marks, some still having small blue flames on them. Even though he was cruel, we gave him a proper burial next to Touya's grave. I know you Shoto didn't have the best relationship with your father, but please come home soon so we can talk. I want to see my two children again. I don't want to lose you like I lost your father and brother. With much love, mom.

After reading their mom's letter, Yuki let go of the paper and knees onto the ground while crying. Shoto comforts her as Yuki lets out all her tears.

Shoto(Mind): I hated the bastard with all my heart... I wanted nothing more than to prove I'm better than him in every way... That I'm not some weapon he could mold... That I'm my own person with my own decisions to make... So why...? *Tears going down his face* Why am I so sad about his death!?

Shoto and Yuki then hug each other as they both cry over their father's death.

Shoto(Mind): First Touya... Now this? Burn marks all over his body?

Yuki(Mind): He was a demon slayer, so there's no way he was killed by a human. It must have been a demon that killed him.

They both then get up and wipe their tears away.

Yuki: Lat's not cry. We are strong.

Shoto: Right. We get stronger together than we've ever been. So that we can avenge Touya.

Yuki: And even...

Shoto and Yuki: Father...

We go back to the present and we focus on Shoto and Yuki staring down their demon brother Touya aka Dabi.

Yuki: Touya... where you the one who killed father...?

Dabi: Of course it was me, he deserved hell for what he put us through!

Shoto: That doesn't mean you have to kill him!

Dabi: Oh we both know you're lying. You're the only person who hated him as much as I did, so why don't you stop pretending little brother?

Shoto:...

Dabi: Enji never deserved forgiveness or love, not after everything he's done.

Shoto: I know how much you hated him, and that I did too. But I didn't let my anger get the better of me and hold me back from moving on with my life.
