"YOU WHAT?!"

It was a lovely and peaceful day at Margo's apartment. A wonderful scent of pesto sauce and zesty lemons filled the kitchen area. All was laid back on this sunny Sunday morning. Except in the Schult's dining area.

"I quit my job," Margo said, almost pleased with herself.

"And he just let you do it? He didn't say anything like 'We would lose a valuable asset if you resign' or something like that? He didn't even bat his eyelashes and does some puppy dog eyes on you?"

"Nope. Nope. And nope."

Marko paced around the room. "I don't get it. I must have read the guy wrong all along."

"See? What I'd tell you. Now, I am out of that office and into a world where I could choose my own occupation. Be happy for me."

"I am happy for you." he wrapped his arms around her waist and gave her a peck on the forehead. "But where will you work now?"

"Don't worry about me. I already handed my resume at the bookstore up front. They said I could tend the store while I write. And the pay seems good. Not as great as The Daily but good enough to keep the water and electricity running.

"I'm proud you stood up to that creep." Marko leaned in for a kiss.

"I'm glad you have so much trust in me." Margo tilted up to meet his lips on hers.
