Narrators POV: When Percy told Maisie and Luke that he wanted to find what he was good at she didn't expect for this to happen.

Luke and Maisie had lead Percy up to the archery corse where a lot of Apollo's children were. " A good source of glory are feats of skill, so we gotta figure out what you're good at." Maisie handed Percy the bow she had. He took the bow and looked at Luke and Maisie. "I wanna be very clear about this, I've never done anything like this before, and it looks super dangerous." "And you never killed a Minotaur before either till you did" Luke quickly responded back to Percy. Percy gaze went to Maisie for a split second before he went and stood in front of the target. Maisie looked over to Luke and whispered "Is this really a good idea letting him do this on his second day at camp" she asked with a worried look. "He's gotta start somewhere" Luke replied with a little shrug. Percy pulled the arrow out of the quiver and positioned himself in front of the target. Maisie looked over to the girl who held a lighter and just shook her head worried that Percy might take someone's head off luckily they were soft tipped arrows. When Percy pulled back on the string he was struggling but eventually pulled it back. When he let go of the arrow it went straight over towards the crowd of people coming very close to Maisie's head but she ducked down before it could hit her. Everyone sat up and looked around to see if anyone got hit by the arrow then looked at Percy. "Should I try again" Percy asked. A corse of very loud no's came from the crowd. Maisie just looked over to Luke he just shook his head. "Maybe he's more of a blacksmith" Maisie said with a shrug of her shoulders. Luke and Maisie hurried over and drug Percy away from the scene.
Maisie, Luke and Percy stood to the side of the blacksmith shop and watched a son Hephaestus who was hammering a sword. Luke gently pushed Percy toward the blacksmith table. Percy pulled down his goggles that were too big for him. Maisie couldn't help and giggle at the sight the goggles falling off his eyes every five seconds and him having to readjust them. When Percy walked over to the table the boy handed him the hammer and was telling him what to do. Percy hit the sword twice before it went flying in the air and landing on the stack of sacks and then caught fire. Maisie looked horrified cause she was standing so close to the fire. When she turned to run away she seen Luke pat Percy on the back and they also started running away from the second disaster Percy had made that day. The three had stoped near the tables by the lake. "Ya know maybe we should take a break get a snack or something" Maisie suggested to the boys. "Yeah, yeah I think that's the best idea for now" Luke said.
The three kids sat down at a table with one of Luke's friend Chris. "Is there a Greek god of disappointment maybe someone should ask him if he's missing a kid" Percy asked. "Oizys but she's a goddess and her whole thing Isn't really disappointment is more like failure" Chris told Percy. Maisie looked over at Luke who was giving Chris a wtf kinda face. Luke just shook his head and turned to Percy "We're gonna find the thing that your good at I know it." Just as Luke finished his sentence the offering bell rang and the three of them got up and went over to the fire pit while Percy still sat at the table. "Why do we have to burn our food seems like a waste don't you think" Percy asked. "The gods like the smell gets their attention before you say a prayer" Luke said. "So they like the smell of burnt Mac and cheese" Percy said genuinely confused. "No they like the smell of begging" Maisie told him before her and Chris went up to the fire. Luke looked at Percy with a smile "You burn what you'll miss the most then they know you really mean what you're about to say, so they listen"
*Flash forward*
A.N- For some context Maisie is in the bathroom with Annabeth getting ready to head to their cabins
Maisie was washing her hands when she heard grunting coming from the door she looked over towards Annabeth who gave her a "what was that look"Maisie just shook her head and listened the grunting it was getting louder she nodded her head back towards the stalls and went in one to hide while Annabeth hid behind one of the bathroom walls. A few seconds later the grunting was in the bathroom there were at least three maybe four kids in there with them now. "Every kid comes here thinking there special do you think your special" Maisie knew that voice anywhere it was clariesse. "No" the poor kid who was about to be beaten said. "Tell me you made it all up about the Minotaur and I'll let you go". It wasn't just some kid it was Percy! "I didn't make anything up" Percy exclaimed. Maisie rolled her eyes dose this kid ever know when to shut up. Then the grunting began again. He was about to get a swirly. Maisie bent down and looked out from under the stall she waited to hear gurgling but nothing. Then all the sudden a splash of water hit her in the face. She jumped up and stood there in shock but was too curious to what was happening outside of her stall. She peeked through the crack of the stall to see Clairesse and her siblings being pushed against the wall by water.
Just as Maisie started to open her stall the Aries kids ran out of the bathroom. She walked outside to see Percy standing in the middle of the flooded bathroom. He was looking at Annabeth then turned to Maisie looking between the two girls "I can explain" he said. "No you can't" Annabeth told him. "Okay" he responded back. Maisie let out a giggle and Percy turned towards her with his signature smile. He paused and turned back to Annabeth pointing a finger at her "Wait I know you". "No you don't" Annabeth replied back leaning against the wall. "Yeah you were there that night in the infirmary with Maisie" Percy said. "Yes, I'm Annabeth" she replied back "Are you stalking me Annabeth" Percy asked with concern. "Yes" she said a little too nonchalantly. "okay" Percy said with a gulp. Do these two not know any other words besides yes and okay Maisie though. "Why" Percy asked "Well, I've been waiting to see if something like this would happen, so I'd know if you could help me" Annabeth said to which Maisie coughed and walked over to where she was standing Annabeth corrected herself by saying "I mean us". " Help you do what" Percy asked looking between the two girls. " Win capture the flag" Maisie said walking up to Percy holding out her hand which he took "Welcome to the team".
