The sand clock in the middle of Pentagram City was easily visible for every denizen of the Pride Ring. That was probably intentional, as its sole purpose was to inform the wretched sinners of how much time there was until the next extermination.

It was a mercy, really.

Heaven could simply send their Exterminators whenever they felt like it. Their holy genocide would most likely be much more effective if they decended without any sort of warning. Although they didn't really need the element of surprise. After all, there was no way that a simple sinner soul could face off with an Exterminator and their blessed weapons.

Right?

Angel sighed deeply, a puff of smoke rising in the night air as his eight eyes focused on the numbers atop of the clock.

Eighty-eight.

Eighty-eight days until the next Extermination.

"Thought I'd find you out here."

He startled ever so slightly at the sound of that deep voice, turning his only a bit just in time to see Husk step into the balcony as well, approaching at a leisurely pace until he reached the edge, by his side.

"Yeah..." Angel couldn't help but smile a bit, turning his sight back to the clock as he offered his companion his cigarrette. "I just... couldn't really sleep, ya know?"

It took a second or two of hesitation, but Husk did ultimately take the cigarrette between his claws, giving it a long drag. Silence stretched between them before the smoke was released in the form of a sigh.

"Eighty-eight days. Ain't that some bullshit?"

 Ain't that some bullshit?"
