Hi everyone! This is my first fanfiction here. I used to write on fanfiction.net back in high school and want to get back into it. I am open to suggestions and any advice.
The main couple will be ShihoxShinichi but I will also be mentioning GinxShiho in here as well. I am trying to keep true to the characters, but I may change a few things to match being in a land with magic.
Prologue
Darkness has fallen and the full moon was shining on two individuals standing in a warehouse waiting for a shipment to arrive. The man, who's silver hair shined underneath the moonlight, hovered almost a foot taller than his partner, was becoming impatient. "This is ridiculous, they should have arrived 20 minutes ago. There will be consequences." His partner remained stoic and continued to face towards the large gated doors they were so eager to see open. "Be Patient Gin," His partner looked up at him, staring through their cathedral mask, black, adorned with lace, "And mind your temper, this is an important delivery, we can't risk-", "You don't have to repeat what I already know." He was firm in his voice, but it did not frighten his partner, they were used to this.
Before they could respond, the gate opened and 5 men walked along side a large crate that was being rolled towards the two individuals. "About time." Gin hissed. Standing a few feet away, the masked individual can sense uneasiness coming from all of them and could hear their hearts beat rapidly. Still, they remained unfazed and stayed focused on the crate in front of them.
The boss spoke first, "Let's get to the point," He pointed at the crate and then towards the brief case Gin was holding. "I have the dust, do you have what I asked for?" The masked individual nodded towards their partner.
Gin opened up the case to reveal two iridescent beans. Gin quickly shut the case and gestured for the others to open the large crate that was set in front of them. "Open the crate first. We need to see if what you have is worth the trade." His voice was low and was growing even more impatient as the seconds went by.
The boss snapped his fingers and two of the men stepped on both sides of the crate and removed the lid. Once they did, a cloud of green smoke wrapped around Gin and his partner. All the men laughed as they watched Gin struggle to free himself from the bind. His partner remained still and unsurprised by their outbursts. They questioned the men, "Do you really think this smoke can hold us?"
One the men who opened the crate laughed and answered, "Doesn't need to, just need to him up long enough to kill him." He pulls a pistol out of his jacket and shoots Gin in the head. His body is released from the smoke and drops to the floor.
They laughed again seeing his body sprawled out. "That was too easy wasn't it? Really expected more, and you?" His gun now pointed at the partner, "We know what you are Dark One, and with out your guard, you are defenseless." All guns are now pointed at them and they snicker, "Bullets can't hurt me." The boss smirks and answers, "Not even the kind dowsed in Night Shade?"
Guns are raised and bullets fly. Their laughter is paused by their shocked faces seeing the bullets go through the Dark One and hitting the wall behind them instead. "What is this?" The boss walks towards the Dark One and looks down at the case that Gin dropped, empty. "What did you do!? WHERE ARE MY BEANS?"
"Your beans?" They all turned and looked up to see Gin and The Dark One on the railing both unharmed and alive. The bodies that were in front of them initially had vanished. Gin and the Dark One jumped down before they could react. Gin rose up and then raised his hand causing the bullets to float. With a flick of his wrist, the bullets, covered in nightshade, flew towards all the men. The bullets pierced their flesh and all of them screamed in agony as the poison rapidly spread through their bodies. Before the boss could die, the Dark One reached down and placed their hand on top of his chest. "I'm sorry, but were not done with you yet." They pushed their hand into his chest and ripped out his heart. It glowed in their hand and it's beat ran faster and faster revealing the fear the man had watching not knowing that they were going to do. He rapidly looked around and then faced Gin, "Please, I'll do anything, this wasn't even my idea, I-"
The Dark One started to squeeze the heart in their hand and ushered him to be silent. Gin grinned with delight seeing the man in pain and replied, "We gave you a chance and now everyone in your clan will die thanks to your incompetence. Now tell us, where is it?"
"It's harvested, hidden in a near by cave, But I can get you some, I know where-"
"Sherry, is the man telling the truth?"
His partner looked up and said, "He knows nothing, he's not even a high ranking member."
"How?" Before he could ask, she squeezed his heart until it became dust causing his body to fall limp and die.
The rest of the men continued to scream in agony as death was consuming them. Gin grabbed the case and motioned to his partner to follow him back to the car. He opened the passenger side door and Sherry slid in taking the brief case from his hands. Once Gin was in the car he commented, "What a waste of time. These smaller indicates are getting greedy and stupider."
Sherry removes her masks and replies, "Not necessarily, I got to enjoy watching you dangle in the air, even if it was an illusion. Thanks for that by the way." She loved to tease him, it was one of the few things that gave her pleasure. Gin scoffed and tried to ignore her remark, "Those idiots are another prime example why we should just do everything ourselves. With your abilities, collecting fairy dust should be easy." Sherry sighed, "You know anything to do with light magic limits my powers, we need the middle man. Once we harvest the dust, we won't need them anymore." Gin is still dissatisfied by the results and doesn't reply. She grabs hold of his hand and continues, " We won't need anyone anymore."
Gin pulls her hand towards his lips and kisses it. He nods and faces back to the road. Sherry smiled and enjoyed the rest of the ride listening to the sound of his heart. Sherry promised him that she wouldn't read his heart without him knowing, but when it beat only for her, it was hard to resist.
