Chapter 1: Kaijou High

Chapter 1: Kaijou Basketball Team

The blue-haired girl slowly entered the gym as she told herself to walk naturally, hardly able to supress the nervousness and excitement that was bubbling inside of her.

She is going to train with the basketball team, one of the best in Japan!

Her ears perked at the sound of basketballs bouncing on polished floorboards, there was the sound of squeaking basketball shoes and the occasional swish of the nets often accompanied with cheers and squeals from girls.

None of the basketball club members noticed her presence, brushing her ponytail behind her shoulder, the blue-head slowly approached the rather plump basketball coach dressed in a plain T-shirt and navy pants.

"Hey, my name is Fujita Suiho from the athletics club." the blue-head greeted the sitting coach called Takeuchi-sensei. Slowly turning his head from the players training hard in front of him, he gave an uninterested glance at Sui.

"Fujita huh? That's right, the athletics club filed a special request to train you with the Kaijou basketball team right?" he asked, Sui nodded solemnly.

"Come with me then." Sighing, the coach stood up grudgingly and waved a gestured telling Sui to follow him, the blue-head followed him docilely behind him and couldn't but get irritated at the how useless the coach saw her.

She actually is pretty fast okay?

"Oi Kise," the coach stopped in front of the team's ace, the blonde Kise Ryouta. Sui brightened upon seeing how good-looking he was but kept her face as blank as usual. Puzzled, the blonde turned to look at the grumpy-looking coach.

'Whoa! He is hot!'

"Take care of this kid, she will be training with the regulars from today onwards." Takeuchi grumbled, Kise arched a graceful eyebrow at the request and peered judgingly at the expressionless blue-head behind him.

"Ehh? Will she be able to keep up-ssuka?" Kise asked, "Isn't there a female basketball team for her?" he asked with a slight pout, Takeuchi sighed.

"I thought so, but apparently she requested to train with the male team instead of the female one." Takeuchi replied in a I-don't-really-care tone. 

A look of understanding appeared in Kise's eyes and he slowly approached Sui who was still internally gaping at how good-looking Kise was.

"Konnichi wa!" Kise greeted happily, "The boy team's training menu may be a bit tough for you so it may be advised for you to train with the girls' basketball team." he stated. Sui immediately understood the blonde's hidden meaning.

'Stop mucking around, we only want serious people.'

'You guys are undermining me.'

Sui smiled, it was the smile of someone very annoyed.

"Sheesh, you guys should stop underestimating me--I hold the record as one of the fastest Kaijou female student of this school's history. I only came because apparently Kaijou male basketball team is one of the best in Japan and I just wanted to train with one of the best people, not too wrong for someone who wants to improve right?" Sui answered, trying to keep her tone as friendly as possible--it was a bit difficult.

Sui could hear sudden laughter coming from her behinds, she turned around and saw a tall male with dark-green hair that has been smoothly flattened and parted with hair gel in a side fringe. He smiled flirtatiously at Sui and eyed Kise who was looking slightly confused and if not, annoyed.

"You are the first girl I met who has ever said that to Kise before. What's your name?" he asked.

"Fujita Suiho." Sui replied, the male smirked and raised Sui's chin so she could meet his dark green eyes head-on.
