Greed and desire. They were supposed to be two different things, but for someone like Maki who was more Greeed than human, he saw them as the same thing. And his desire was to research, to contemplate, to think. The Badan Empire was now home to many creatures and entities, many of which had no idea of the other existed. So he was conducting research, research into other beings similar to himself. You see, in actuality seeking knowledge was a feint to disguise his true intentions. For he wasn't reading so much as about the creatures themselves, but how they died.

Each and every one of these creatures fought to the end, dying to a Kamen Rider. It was a truly wonderful way to die. Maki believed in the end of things, all things. Life was only valuable when it ended, and one could evaluate its results in full.

Badan is a disgrace. Taking away so many endings...by reviving us all.

On some level, he was secretly glad he was alive, he looked back on his first life and declared it a failure. He failed to show OOOs that endings were beautiful which in turn caused him to fail doing the same to the entire earth. So in that respect, he welcomed having another chance, but deep down he was personally offended. All of these spectacular endings had no right to be undone.

But, there laid the problem of how he would bring about these endings. Last time he used the Greeed's very bodies against them. Using them as a instrument to bring about the end of the world, but now his Greeed comrades were suspicious of him now. However, he still needed allies or pawns. This was what the research was for, finding similar people to himself who he could manipulate or bring back earthly destruction. The research would take a long time, but it was a pleasant joy he liked. Nobody bothered him in the library and for now he had all the time he needed.
