My Version Of The Signs

The Signs At School (a short story)

Leo walls into the crowded hallways. Trying to find her way to a certain classroom. Suddenly a different girl with long blonde hair bumps into her causing Leo to fall on the ground. "Ugh who are you?" the girl says. Leo soon finds out that the girl she bumped into is Aries. Wanting only to not cause a commotion Leo starts to walk down the hall only to bump into another girl. The girl has short brown hair and she is wearing blue headphones around her neck. The different girls green eyes stare into Leo's dark brown eyes with a happy glare. "Did you have fun meeting Aries? Yeah I know she's pretty rude, pretty rude to me too" Leo can tell by how sweet she is in the way she talks that the person she just met is Capricorn. Capricorn motions and Leo back over to her and leave her to Capricorn home room which is also Leo's home room surprisingly. Just as the professors taking attendance of girls stumbles into the room falling on the floor dropping all of her binders. The girl has blue pigtails and looks to be about one year younger than leo. "Good morning Aquarius. Nice to see you here so bright and early". Said the professor obviously being sarcastic. The professor goes on and on about how there is a new student which is me. Then he finally calls me up and I introduce myself. It's a long introduction and everyone gets so bored just listening to me. The teacher asks if there any comments about me, which I'm not too happy about. Aries speaks up and explains how I was the one who ruined her conversation with her hot boyfriend. Then Aries goes on and on about how hot her boyfriend is. Then a boy that looks about our age comes up to the front and wraps his arm around Aries shoulder. He introduces himself as Sagittarius the fun-loving good humored boyfriend.

It's finally lunch time I'm so hungry. Capricorn lead me to the cafeteria and shows me where we sit. Then she explains how to buy lunch. First we go up and grab milk, then we order our meal and I order pizza, finally we go and we pay for our food. Then a boy comes and walks up to us I can see Capricorn blush. He has black hair blue eyes. I can tell that he is looking at me. I can't believe a boy is looking at me. Capricorns face gets redder as the boy sits at our table. Let me introduce myself as Pisces. He tells us. He's extremely handsome. I almost can't believe that he's sitting at our table. Throughout lunch time I find myself looking at him over and over and over. And every time I look at him he looks back at me and smiles. By the end of lunch time I think, on my first day of school that I have a new crush. I will have a new crush. Capricorn explains to me how hot Pisces is. I then figure out that I have all my classes with him. All year Pisces and I are going to be together. We're going to be partners in biology, we're going to work together and maths, then we're going to get married later in life, okay I think I just took that too far. Well I definitely have a crush...

I'm in biology class now Pisces is sitting next to me. Our teacher, asks us to turn on the water to wash our hands and prepare for a dissection. Pisces and I both reached for the handle at the same time and we hold hands. All I can think is oh my god we are holding hands. This is so awesome. Why we hold hands Pisces slip a small piece of paper into my palm. I take my hand off the handle and watch Pisces wash his hands. I slowly yet steadily open the small piece of paper to reveal messy handwriting. The writing reads will you go out with me. I can't believe it I'm about to freak out. Did you just ask me out? At the bottom is another line of writing, but it's so messy I'd rather call it chicken scratch. The writing says from Sagittarius. Something flashes in my head a little bit like deja vu. Then I remember, Sagittarius is Aries boyfriend. I look over to where Sagittarius and Aries sit. I now noticed that Aries is crying into her sleeves, and Sagittarius is nervously tapping his feet and looking down. I see a note flutter on to the floor that says we are breaking up. I can't believe Sagittarius broke up with Aries just to date me. I read that piece of paper out of my notebook and I write no because you should date a Aries. I fold the paper into a paper airplane and while our teacher isn't looking I fly it over to Sagittarius. He looks excited as he opens it. His smile soon disappears as he read the note, and it turns into straight face and then a frown. I see a single tears stream down his face as he read the note over and over and over again. Do I feel bad? No I don't. He shouldn't have broken up with Aries to date me.

Soon we return to home room and Sagittarius is still morning over my letter. I walk over to Aries in hope of cheering her up. I asked her if she wants to date Sagittarius? Yes she does. Then tell her he was stupid to ask me out and that I will force him to date her again. She gives me a straight face look and then forcefully hugs me around the waist. I hear her murmuring you aren't so bad after all. I walk over to Capricorn and wink at her then I go and hook Aries and Sagittarius back up again.
