While writing this chapter, I racked my brain a lot and also poured my soul into it, because the chapter was related to the soul, so I hope you will appreciate my efforts and also vote and comment.
With trembling hands, Dhara picked up the cloth, and tears welled up in her eyes upon seeing the girl's clothes in Samar's cupboard.
A terrible fear gathered in her supple heart, which had only slightly normalized after returning to Samar and confessing her genuine feelings for him. Despite her earnest "I love you," those three magical words she eagerly wanted to say to him were still pending.
Her eyes and heart struggled to believe what she was witnessing and feeling at that moment. Rushing towards the wardrobe again, she was taken aback in shock when she discovered not just one piece of cloth, which she thought was her delusion, but rather, many clothes of a specific gender placed there.
Tears continuously flowed from her eyes. Her delicate heart, which had been broken many times, even brutally by those she considered her family, had not experienced such excruciating pain before.
The piece of cloth slipped gently from her hand, as if Samar's secure hold, her Hukum, had slipped away, leaving her lonely once again.
Though she had been aware that one day she might have to face something horrible, which she didn't want to confront, she preferred dying first to save herself from another heartbreak. However, reality shattered her expectations and broke her even more.
Lifelessly sitting on the wooden floor with a broken and wounded heart, she stared at the wardrobe. The experiences she shared with him, the confessions they made to each other, now replayed in her mind. However, everything felt fake and scripted to Dhara.
Samar's every word from the previous night, which had felt genuine and had reached her heart, now seemed hollow and false.
" Dhara, Hukum is right. You are his forgotten favorite toy, left behind and forgotten with time. He doesn't even know where they are, whether broken or still intact just the way he left them before forgetting. " She told herself with hiccups.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as her gaze wandered aimlessly around the desolate room. It was only last night that this very space had borne witness to their heartfelt confessions, where they had bared their souls to each other. She had learned then that for him, love was synonymous with trust and care. Yet now, the room seemed to close in around her, its emptiness suffocating her, its walls pressing against her as if in a cruel embrace.
"Hukum, what was last night all about?" Her voice echoed in the vacant room, laden with anguish. "You told me that you valued trust and care over love, deeming it a mere fantasy. And yet, how could you betray my trust so easily? Did you not consider how I would feel upon learning the truth? Do you not care for my heart, knowing that it will shatter irreparably this time? Why do you put me through this pain?" Her words reverberated off the walls, unanswered, as she grappled with her pain.
Her sobs filled the silence, yet there was no one there to offer solace or lend an ear. The sight of her own reflection in the mirror caught her attention, her gaze drawn to the Samar's T-shirt she wore.
Once a source of comfort, it now felt abrasive against her skin, a painful reminder of what once was.
In a frenzy of despair, she take off the T-shirt, discarding it in a corner as if to rid herself of the memories it held.
She sat there, huddled in the center of the room, her loneliness palpable, her body half-naked, only a remnant of clothing preserving her modesty.
All she yearned for was escape, to flee to a place where pain and heartbreak could no longer reach her, where her tender heart would be shielded from further torment.
