My eyes fluttered open and I slowly stretched. "What happened" my voice cracking slightly as I spoke. A blurry cat swims in my vision as they mew something faint. I stretch out and I suddenly feel the warmth of soft fur against mine. Startled a little, I gave a small jump. My vision having returned to me, I looked at the cat to see Morning Flower. "I am NOT a kit so you don't have to do that!" I meowed. "Based on what I've seen, your around 5 moons old meaning that you are still a kit. It's fascinating how you survived your father and being alone when your under 6 moon old. That's the usual age for an apprentice. You also learnt how to master herbs and hunting. You are a complicated one." A purr came from Morning Flower. "I stretch and see Ripplepaw walk in with a vole in his mouth. "Here" he said as he dropped it at Morning Flower's feet. "Your favorite." He said and walked of quickly. "How old are you?" I ask politely. "Around 6 moons. Almost 7. Meanwhile Ripplepaw recently became an apprentice. I think he has a crush on me." Her whiskers twitched in amusement. Flamepaw suddenly bursted in, scaring Morning Flower.
"ROSE! Your AWAKE! And alive" Tears watered his eyes slightly. A slight mist covered Morning Flower's eyes for a second. Maybe it was just my imagination I thought to myself. I purred as he circled me in a cute yet franticly worried way. I smiled happily and purred slightly at the warm touch of his fur against mine. "Are you sure your okay? No headaches or stomachaches or anything?" Flamepaw pouted at Morning Flower as she attempted and failed to shove the tom out of the den. "I'm ok but I'm also a bit tired. It would be best if I catch up on some rest." I said cheerfully. "But you slept for almost a whole week!" Flamepaw burst out. "That was subconscious and restless sleep so it doesn't count!" Morning Flower said as she gave one last push, shoving Flamepaw out of the den. She then left the den after him. I settled down and closed my eyes to my dream filled with shadows.
