(Next chapter might also be a spider-girl Robin story cause I'm looking at those stories on AO3)

"I didn't need your help," Nancy spits, dusting off her skirt and turning to get in Robin's face.
Robin shrugs. "Well, you got it anyway. You're welcome, princess."
Princess? Really, Robin? You couldn't have done any better than that? You've known Nancy for, what, three years now and that's what you landed on? Real feminist of you, Buckley.
"Just who are you anyway?"
Robin grins, though Nancy can't see it, winks, and shoots little finger guns. "I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Woman."
Nancy frowns. It's cute, the way she crosses her arms and her brows furrow. It's one degree shy of a pout, and would be completely if she hadn't just rolled her eyes.
"No, I mean who are you. Under the mask."
Robin perches on the ledge of the balcony of Nancy's apartment, putting a good distance between them. "That's for me to know, and for you to never find out."
Nancy's frown deepens into a scowl. Sirens sound in the distance—perfect timing.
"Well," Robin stands. "That's my cue. See ya around, princess." It rolls off her tongue with ease now, and she figures that she might as well double down. She gives Nancy a two fingered salute, before swinging from the balcony and towards the sirens.
"This isn't over!" yells Nancy.
Robin smiles to herself. This is going to be fun.
(What she doesn't see is Nancy trying to hide her still beet red face in her hands.)

If Robin catches Nancy staring at her longer than normal, eyes narrowed in a quizzical gaze every time Robin winces, or the strangled noise that comes out of her if she moves too quickly, or the cut above her eye, or the cuts on her arm, she doesn't say anything.
It's not totally because she wants to climb Robin like a tree. Nope. Not at all.
She's just...curious. Robin can't be that clumsy, can she?
"Are you stalking me?" Nancy accuses as soon as Robin lands on her balcony.
"I could ask you the same thing."
Nancy scoffs. Rolls her eyes. Folds her arms."You aren't as clever as you think you are, you know."
Robin places a dramatic hand to her chest. "I think I'm plenty clever, thank you very much." She mimics Nancy's pose, arm folded across her chest, leaning against the stone ledge.
The light from inside Nancy's apartment and the light from the city cast a soft glow here on the balcony, softening all of Nancy's sharp features.
Butterflies suddenly erupt in her belly, warmth blossoming in her chest and rushing to her cheeks and she really, really thought this mask would help her put some distance between her and this stupid crush she's got on Nancy but it's only made it worse.
