"You did bring your swimsuit right?" Slayter asked jumping up and down as we made our way back from school. It was hard to convince my mom to let me go over since she'd have to pick up Flora but after telling her that Slayter's dad wanted to see me she was ok with it. I'm convinced she thinks I'm only friends with Slayter so I can cozy up to his dad to get a high-paying job at his clinic.

"What? No. Plus don't you think it's too cold to swim?" I questioned dumbfounded, for whatever reason Slayter never felt the cold, it was blistering with wind and as I stood there hugging my school blazer close, Slayter had his off, tied around his waist only having his white shirt protecting him from the wind. He always uses his blazer as a belt more than anything else.

Scrunching up his nose Slayter flicked my arm. "You're just weak. I'll let you have a spare pair I haven't used, and if we must, we can use the indoor pool, dad can turn on the heating just for your fragile little body." He teased as if he wasn't smaller than me. Sticking my tongue out at him I just push him over, Slayter landing on the pavement, proving who's the weaker one out of the two of us.

"Sure then. That's why you're on the floor." I smirked down at him playfully, Slayter growling back as he jumped up, lunging towards me.

"Oh you've done it now..." he purred eyes locking onto me. Pulling a cocky expression I raised my hand giving him a full middle finger, gaining a laugh from Slayter as he lunges again. Dodging I began to run up the road toward his house, laughing uncontrollably as I did so, passing mansion after mansion that all had their unique style and architecture. Slayter and his family live in the largest by-land private community around here, surrounded by forests and direct access to the ocean, I've never gone anywhere but Slayter's house here but I can only imagine how beautiful the landscaping and wildlife are. That special goes for the mega-mansion on top of the hill that oversees the whole private community.

CraSHHhh

"Got ya!!" I heard Slayter laugh menacingly as I toppled over into a bush, Slayter side-tackling me also resulted in him following me into the prickly scrub. Oh no... Did we seriously crash into someone's bushes? Oh no no no no... "Dude chill out." Slayter laughs at me rolling onto his side. As always, he's able to read me like a book. "We've made it to my house!" He continues to laugh at me, getting up on my elbows I look behind me to see his home, their skillfully carved double door sticking out to me first. Letting out a sigh of relief, I glare over at him about to open my mouth when I get interrupted by a booming voice.

"My moonflowers!!!" His voice was unmistakable, and from the look of Slayter tensing up, I didn't even have to look to know exactly who it was. Hunter Asclepius. Slayters dad.

Grinning sheepishly Slayter looked back at his dad in the doorway of the home, dusting himself he got up, pulling me with him, looking at the ground I saw not only did we go through the bush but, we landed right in his dads prised moonflowers, their little white corpses laying on the ground. "Sorry, Dad, we were messing around and um yeah..." He trailed off looking like he couldn't even come up with anything. Glimpsing up I see Slayter's dad marching over to us, a determined look on his face, not a single word was able to escape my lips in defense before I'm suddenly scooped up into a tight bear hug. "Dad, why?!" Slayter yells in a bratty tone.

Feeling the strong vibrations of Hunters' laughing I stood there confused, so he's not mad at us? "I'm saying hello, Slayter. Since when can I not say hello to Jesse." He chuckled light-heartedly, his grip loosening letting me go of the warm embrace, blushing darkly from the embarrassment of this whole situation I bowed my head down in shame, about to apologize again but once again I was interrupted. "Don't you dare apologize, Jesse, I saw everything, I'm fully aware it's the roughen of my son who murdered my flowers..." His voice hummed lowly, looking back I could see he was giving Slayter the look that Slayter always gives me when trying to figure out what's going on.
