I was woken up by Ana's hoarse voice calling me out hastily. When I opened my eyes, I found her tense form beside my bed, her gaze roamed on the door time to time in an attempt to keep watch if someone was coming here.

"What's wrong?" I asked her in confusion. As I sat up on the bed, she took her place beside me, her fingers continuously pulling on the hem of her dress.

For some reason yet unknown to me, Ana was nervous.

"Ana?" I shook her body in an attempt to pull her attention to me. She finally spared me a frantic glare. "Yeah?" Her tone held fear as she asks in return.

"What's wrong?" I asked again.

Then she seemed to realize why she came into my room in the first place and decided to wake me up from a peaceful slumber.

She bit her bottom lip and cleared her throat. "Uh-huh, Dad has returned." I frowned at her response. "What's wrong with that?"

If Uncle has returned from his trip to Chicago, Ana should be happy. For someone who loved her father dearly, I couldn't decipher why she'd be so disturbed about it.

"He has a guest with him."

Ana said again, as always never giving me an exact explanation of why she was troubled. One of the major reasons why Aunt got pissed off at her so often, the girl was as poor with the choice of words for a normal conversation as good she's with motivational speeches.

A moment of pause waved between us. Then I let out an exasperated sigh. "For God's sake, Ana, you need to tell me more words. I'm asking for the fourth time, what's wrong?"

"Rafael de Luca is his guest!" She bursts out. "He has come along with dad... with a proposal."

What?

Any tad bit of confusion I had inside me had disappeared, being replaced with extreme shock. I was still for a sufficient amount of time, left in utter wonder why, for the good lord's sake, Rafael de Luca would visit the Rossi house.

But I didn't want to imagine his motive. Because I knew for a fact that whatever it was, it was no good.

"What proposal?" Despite I asked, my tone cracked on the edge for some odd reason.

Rafael had no business with my family. My Uncle had worked for them for more than twenty years, and any scion of the de Luca family didn't much less even care to look at the Rossi's direction.

So why now? Why after all the things that happened?

Rafael de Luca, what do you want?

His presence alone left bitterness in my soul last night. Now he was advent in my house.

After it felt like an eternity has passed, Ana pulled me out of my thoughts, replying to my query from earlier. "He wants to marry me."
