It's been three days since my last conversation with him.
I've been in my room for three days.
Crying.
Sleeping.
Devastation pouring over me.
I feel physically sick.
I look myself in the mirror, think,
You were right to think no one could ever love you, care for you, to ever be enough.
Even the person you love most has turned on you.
Grayson has come every day, speaking to me through the door.
"Y/n, please talk to me. I didn't mean what I said. I love you so much. You're my wife and I wouldn't want otherwise." He said once.
Avery and Libby have come in trying to talk to me and make me eat.
Doesn't work.
Xander tries to make me laugh.
Barely works.
Nash, just sits with me, holding my hand.
Jameson lays next to me and talks my ear off, sometimes letting me cry into his chest.
The maids come in, too, they even try to make me feel better.
Oren and Alisa give me parental help as well, they're like my parents so.
My heart is just too broken.
My own husband.
What am I supposed to do?
"Okay, Y/n, time to get up," an unfamiliar girl says pulling the sheets off me. I groan. "I will not have you sitting here miserable over a man any longer!"
"Meet Max, my best friend." Avery says.
"Get her something cute to wear, we're going shopping!"
She pulls me off the bed, forcing me into the bathroom.
"Go take a shower. We'll do the rest. Sorry for the first impression," She says softly reaching out a hand. I shake it. "Max. My name is Max."
I softly smile.
"Y/n. And thank you. I needed a push."
She smiles.
They laid out my black skirt and lacy blouse and some Mary Jane's.
"And we're going where?"
"The mall! We're taking you book shopping!" Says Libby.
"Hi, sweetie, how're you feeling?" Oren asks.
"Better. Thanks to them." I say nodding to the girls.
"Good." He says placing a kiss on the crown of my head.
We all climb into the limo.
"Just so you know...Grayson has sort of been shunned the past few days. We heard everything." Avery says.
I'm silent.
"You didn't deserve that," she says placing a hand on mine. "He didn't mean it but you didn't deserve it."
"What about the threat?" I change the subject.
She looks at me for a moment.
"Grayson handled it. He...made a deal with Will Grayson."
"A deal?"
"Will wanted all the money Tobias left. So we gave it to him. Grayson traded the money for your protection."
I sit there baffled.
He gave all the money for me?
"What about the house? What are we going to do for money? We're broke, right? How are we going to live?" I say frantically.
"Woah, woah it's okay. We have it all handled. The boys put all the money the old man left them personally in a savings account. We got to keep the house since it's under my name. We've all gotten jobs."
"Where am I going to work and where's everyone working at?"
"I'm working at a chess center. Libby and Xander in a bakery. Nash is a helper at a ranch. Max is going to live here and help me at the center. Jameson is working with children teaching them riddles. Grayson and you are working at a journalism company. He showed them your writing and they wanted you in office asap. He's going to be a photographer, they loved his photos. So don't worry it's all taken care of." Avery says smiling reassuringly.
He got me my dream job, and we will be doing it together.
"We're here!" Max announces.
As soon as we're inside, I'm immediately searching.
I walk out with ten books, all romance.
"Let's get some ice cream!" Libby says.
We all sit with our chosen flavor.
"Thank you for this day. I really needed it." I say.
"You're welcome any time. You deserved it," They all smile proudly. "We're proud of you coming out here today." Libby says.
Happy and sad tears fill my eyes.
"I need to speak to him." I say softly.
They all nod.
After we finish our ice creams and a couple of visits to a few stores, laughing we head back to the Hawthorne house.
