*Harry's POV*
"Shit."
I look around. I'm sitting on my bed in my room, abruptly awoken from my dream.
But it looked so real...... felt real...... Is it real?
I'm panting, short ragged breaths coming out from my mouth. Sweating, too. My heart is literally pounding against my ribs, trying to break free from my chest.
What kind of psycho dream was that? I must be bloody mental.
I was standing in a void, with no light at all. Complete darkness. But then I heard a soft whisper "Walk." Somehow my legs had a mind of its own and started walking. My mind just followed behind.
Something flashed ahead of me. Seems to be lying on the ground. I walked ahead and saw the faintest trace of light shining on a necklace.
The necklace I found at the supermarket. Bliss, I thought. What was it doing in my dream?
I was deep into my thought when suddenly I was rudely interrupted by yours truly......
"HARRY!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!" hollered Louis while barging into my room wearing only boxers."Thanks for waking up the whole neighbourhood at 6 am. I bet no one would be late for work today." I replied nonchalantly, mentally reminding myself to duck-tape Lou's mouth tonight, which I keep forgetting to do.
"My pleasure, Hazza." replied Lou while flashing that boyish but cute smile of his. "Breakfast's ready by the way."
"Roger that."I quickly washed my face then slipped on a white V-neck shirt and a pair of soccer shorts. I didn't bother to comb my messy curls at all.
Thank God that Lou decided to finally ditch those boxers and actually wear decent clothing when I joined him at the table for breakfast. I poured myself a glass of full-cream milk then took two slices of bread and headed for the toasters.
"Penny for a thought Haz?"
"Wut?"
"Your bread is toast, as in charcoal black toast."
I look down. Oh dang. Two slices of charcoal. Must have been too deep in my thoughts that I didn't realise.
"You sit down, Harry. I'll do it for you." Louis ordered.
I just shrugged and went back to the table silently, allowing Louis to deal with the bread.
"Kae so here's your non-charred toast. Talk." He looked at me, fixing his intense gaze on me.
"What am I supposed to say when I have nothing to say?" I quickly diverted my eyes from his.
"Whatever that's up there in your brain. You can't fool me, Haz. You know that." His voice gets deeper, and he gets up from his seat, leaning over the table towards me.
I didn't want Lou to worry. But his eyes are just irresistible. Shit I can't hold on anymore.
"Fine, I'll spill. I had a dream, I think."
"Go on."
So I told Lou everything, not missing out a single detail. He was quiet for a few milliseconds, then asked,
"The necklace? You mean the one that belonged to the weird, floor-hugging girl at the supermarket yesterday?"
"Yeah. And she ain't weird. She's just looking for her necklace." I defended, surprised at myself for saying that. I don't even know who she is! What just happened?
Wake up, Harry.
"Calm down, Hazza. Just saying."
"Anyway, you returned her her necklace, right?" I asked. "Did it look familiar to you?"
"Yeah, and nope. Why ask?" Louis raised an eyebrow at me.
"To be honest I have this deja-vu kind of feeling that I've seen the necklace some place else before, but I don't know where. I mean like seriously, before the supermarket incident. I'm not mental, am I?"
"Nah, you're completely fine. You should see my uncle rolling on the pavement. Now that's what I call cuckoo."
"Yeah, maybe I'm just too stressed out with all the schoolwork and assignments." I answered with a yawn. Man that dream has seriously deprived me of my sleep.
"Oh f*ck we better hurry up! I don't wanna do toilet duty again!" said Louis frantically, attacking his breakfast ferociously.
"Shit you're right!" I NEVER EVER want to do toilet duty again. "Okay, let me just tell my mum that we're leaving."
I called out to my mum, but no answer.
Weird.
I called out again, walking into the living room to see whether she's there.
No answer, just silence.
Maybe she's upstairs?
"Mom! Me and Lou are leaving for school!" I called out while climbing the stairs. I checked all three bedrooms and the toilet but no sign of her. Usually she's in the living room watching the news or in her room sleeping. But no Mum. Just me and Lou in the house.
Where's my mum?
