Deep underground, far from humanity's civilization.
There's a tiny shrine chained with many mystic chains and magical chains. There are many strange talisman papers sealing the tiny shrine as if it's preventing whatever inside to go out.
Inside the shrine, there's a dagger with a wavy blade shaped like a snake. Its appearance is similar to keris, a dagger from a certain nation.
Unlike the normal keris that is used for cultural ceremonies or mythical ceremonies, this weapon is an ancient weapon from the age of god. It was not only used to kill important human figures, this ancient weapon also killed many mythical creatures, ended many civilizations, and used to kill gods.
A very dangerous weapon.
A cursed weapon.
"So you are here."
An androgynous deity with silver colors from top to bottom, with a holographic shimmering rainbow-color effect on top of their head suddenly appears and lights the deep underground.
"You sealed yourself so humans will not find you."
The deity approaches slowly.
As the deity approaches, the chain is breaking one by one, the talisman is torn apart, ornaments breaking down, and the grounds are shaking.
"I know you did not want to wake up. But I need you to wake up. Now."
From inside the shrine, darkness emerges and it consumes the surrounding.
The deity emits a silver light that wards off the darkness.
Legions of grotesque dark creatures emerge from the shrine and attack the deity.
The deity just stands still.
The creatures disappear when they touch the light.
"Did the curse consume you? Did you forget who you are?"
The deity speaks an ancient language no human could hear nor understand, the ancient weapon's real name.
The darkness stops for a moment.
Suddenly the darkness is getting thicker and it envelops the whole cave. The creatures are more ferocious and keep attacking even though they are disappearing one by one.
"The last ancient weapon humanity failed to destroy. Your master created you for the sole purpose to end life. You have killed many living beings, kids, young, elderly, important figures, heroes, saints, criminals, thugs, monsters, demon lords, even your own wearer."
"Many gods, demigods, demons, deities, legendary creatures, and mythical creatures meet their end from your blade. You have bathed yourself with enough curse to end the world. You are destined to be destroyed. Is that what you want?"
The darkness and the creatures are attacking more intensely as the deity moves closer.
"Or do you want to change?"
The deity's long silver hairs form into tentacle-like weapons with a triangular spearhead at the tip. The tentacle hairs are impaling the creatures, piercing the darkness, and damaging the shrine.
The shrine is emitting large shockwaves, trying to push back the deity from approaching.
"Just because you are a weapon, you cannot change? If that is true, I will not grace yourself with my presence, ancient weapon."
The deity ignores the shockwave and stands in front of the broken down shrine.
"How long are you going to hide there?"
The strong pierce from the silver hair-like tentacle.
The shrine is broken apart, revealing a floating dagger with dark auras leaking out.
It launches many curses, but alas it's futile to the deity as they disappear as they touch the light.
The deity in return expands the light, engulfing the dagger, completely shutting itself from emitting any darkness, creatures or even curses.
"I will say it again."
The deity moves closer and speaks the dagger's true name again.
"If you want to change, now is the time."
The deity opens its hand.
A small orb of light.
It is the soul of a young girl that just died on the surface.
The pure soul is screaming loud, asking for help. The voice is echoing in the cave and it's full of sadness and regrets.
"Ancient weapon. If you want to change your end, eat this soul. For your salvation starts from this very soul."
The dagger is vibrating. It's resonating with the scream of help from the soul.
"Now is the time for you to wake up."
The deity holds the soul for the last time and releases it.
The orb of light quickly flies and enters the dagger.
A short pause in the air. Then came a strong thud noise from the dagger.
The deity retracts the light, returning the surroundings back to normal.
Just like a beating heart, the dagger is beating faster. It spills blood and emits dark auras, filling the cave. But it is not showing any sign to attack the deity.
A loud thump that echoes the cave.
The beating sound stops. The blood and the dark auras also disappeared.
"The contract is sealed."
Says the dagger.
It flies and breaks through the ceiling to the surface, leaving the deity behind.
The deity looks at the damaged cave and the broken shrine.
It picks a broken part of the scabbard and puts it near the broken shrine.
"You will not regret this. I guarantee you."
The deity disappears in the thin air.
There's something engraved on the broken parts of the scabbard.
A new name.
Something that the ancient weapon will cherish the most.
