"I needed a hug, but all they gave me was a box of matches and a knife."
— Recovered missive from Captain Katrina Riss to Daciana Riss

Looking at all the files I have laid out on the table, I then shift my gaze back to the woman standing in front of me. "So you're willing to burn all of our memories together..."

I picked up the letter she sent me yesterday. "Let it all burn." I light it up with my power and watch the paper burn in my hand. "You mean nothing to me Nova. You cheated. Go find someone else to entertain. Because I'm not doing that anymore."

"You'll never find someone else like me, Kat. Remember that."

"Two things. One, I'm not a fucking cat. It's Katrina. Second, good. That means I won't be stuck with a pussy that can't even get me to finish. Fuck you, Nova." She looks to be in shock while a smirk adorns my lips. "Now get out. I have work. Unlike some people, I don't smoke, eat garbage, and sleep for a living." I turn my eyes back to the file about the new girls. Specifically, Joy Breanne.

"Fuck you, Kat. I'm going."

"Don't trip on your ego on your way out," I warn with a chuckle. She bangs the door while closing it which makes me cringe at the loud noise.

"Mm... If she says she's human why the hell is her blood elven?" I take the file and march out of my office. "Anastasia! Just who I've been looking for." The short woman looks up at me as I walk to her office with her. Damn elf everything here is green damn.

"Yes?"

"Breanne Joy. What's her deal?" I give her the file as she sits and stands in front of her.

"Oh her. Yeah, I felt something with her. Elf... Hmm... Interesting. I remember her. I don't know what's her deal. You should wait for the labs." She handed me the file back and I stomped back to my office.

I pour myself a pint of fey wine. It's an elven drink but it's nice. I put her in my pile, she's interesting to me. And I do so I go on with all the other new girls.

I pick between my squad to Anabelle. She's the only one left with spots.

I pick up my pint and stand opposite my wall of windows. From here I can see the tops of the statues leading to the dragon's path and the abandoned towers of Edinburgh.

Edinburgh the founding father, Charlton Edinburgh, built those towers. But then the Venin came. And now they're abandoned. Charlton is dead. He was an elder. He collected women who could fight against the dark magic. Thus, we.

We are called shadow fighters. Because we come, we get shit done, and no one sees us. He trained me. And he trusted this place with my life. He was right to do so. I've found many wars and I only have one scare going from the left side of the chest to the middle on my back.

And that's the only one and it's recent. I was distracted.

A knock on my door snaps me out of my thoughts. Fucking thoughts. "Yes," I state loud enough for the person on the other side can hear me.

In walks Anabelle. Wearing a puzzled look and has a paper in her hand. "Yes, General?"

"Captain Riss, I have some... Findings about Ms. Joy." She mumbles. I hum and she gives me the paper. I could not believe my eyes.

Breanne Joy
Sex: Intersex
Species: Half-Elf Half unknown
Limitation: unknown

That is weird. An elf hybrid, convinced she's a human. That's exceptionally weird. "I've never seen this," I mumble. In all my 500 years on this planet never in my life have I seen something this interesting.

"That's weird indeed." I look back at the intersex. What the hell does that mean? I've never heard of that either. "Thank you, General. I'll take care of this." She nods and walks out. "Wait. Call her into my office." She looks at me questionably but does as I say.

I clean up my desk till Ms. Joy arrives. There's another knock on my door and I walk up to open it. "Come in." Kimmy walks in with Breanne in tow.

"Thank you, Cadet. You can go now." She gives me a flirtatious look and a wink and walks out. "Something to drink?" I ask still drinking my wine.

"Just normal red wine." She mumbles. Her voice is silky but rough around the edges. It's raspy and low. Mmm, yum.

I pour her red wine and give her the glass. I sit opposite her and cross my legs on top of the desk. My boots shake some dirt as I settle.

"So... Ms. Joy." I make an effort to look at her file that's on my desk so I get all the details right.

"Yes...?" She asks.

"Katrina Riss. But you'll know me as Captain Riss. So everything you've come to know is a lie." I flat-out tell her. What's the point of sugarcoating when the news is shit.

"What?" She doesn't believe me. I pick out the results and give it to her. Her eyes slowly scan the page. She pales at one point but continues. "What's the meaning of this? I'm Human." She states. She's not as hysterical as I thought she'd be.

"You aren't. Maybe your parents lied to you all your life." I finish my wine and pour myself another pint.

"I don't have parents. I'm an orphan."

"Makes even more sense."

Something is happening... I don't know what but something... I love this. Finding out the storyline with my readers.

I'm done with the medical system. Like why am I not getting the help I need bro? I'm sick for 3 months now. And I'm not getting help. Only now did I get a stupid pill that should help me eat but it doesn't. Fuck the system.

Not sure I give a fuck how late this shit is. I'm feeling worse than shit. Fuck off.
This shit isn't edited I'll edit it in the future.
