How does one slide into DMs? Let me rephrase that: how does one successfully slide into someone's DMs? Well in this case, she never meant to successfully do it, it was kind of just a fun thing for her to do to help with the little crush that had formed on him. She never thought he'd see it, let alone reply, but there she sat, with a dm from him when she woke up in the morning. So to answer the question, she had no fucking clue how she did it.

Lauren Everette was always shy growing up. Which is why it surprised her dad and her friends when she became an actor, and a very successful one at that. She was sick and tired of watching everybody off living their best loved, not caring about what others thought, so she took matters into her own hands. Now because of that change, she's a successful actress, mental health advocate and vlogger that millions have followed because they found themselves relating to her story. She loved how far she had come. And now, she found herself crushing on a certain NHL player that had come up on her For You page a few times that was also the captain of her favourite hockey team. So, one night while laying in bed she thought to herself, what the hell, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. So she shot. And just a few hours later, she would score.

Quinn Hughes was destined for the NHL, and he knew it. He could sense it almost. And now here he was, captain of the Vancouver Canucks, playing against his little brothers Jack and Luke, living the life that his little self dreamed of. It was everything he expected and still felt so unreal at the same time. He was happy and content, mostly. He felt off sometimes, like there was something (or someone) his body or soul was longing for but he just couldn't seem to figure it out. Then one night, when he couldn't sleep because of postgame and also pregame jitters, he decided to scroll through social media. And through the thousands of DMs he got from fans and girls trying to get with him, hers caught his eye.

From here, a friendship blossomed, and then genuine feelings started forming. Not wanting to lose the other, they tried keeping these feelings locked away, but they kept finding themselves in situations that made it obvious to everyone except themselves that they longed for one another.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, as this was just the beginning. The beginning of something that neither of them had ever expected to find. Certainly not from a singular DM.
