Chapter Sixteen: The Hunt

The forest was filled with an eerie silence as James and Victoria split up, each pursuing their own target. James, driven by his predatory instincts, was on Eliana's trail, while Victoria was tracking Bella.

Alice, Rosalie, and Eliana were moving swiftly through the forest, their senses alert for any sign of danger. However, James was a skilled tracker, his pursuit relentless and unyielding.

Suddenly, Eliana stumbled, a sharp pain shooting through her ankle. She let out a gasp, her body hitting the forest floor. Alice and Rosalie quickly rushed to her side, their eyes wide with concern.

"Eliana, are you okay?" Alice asked, her voice filled with worry.

Eliana nodded, gritting her teeth against the pain. "I'm fine, Alice. We need to keep moving."

However, before they could get far, James appeared, his eyes glinting with a dangerous amusement. "Not so fast," he sneered, his gaze fixed on Eliana.

Alice and Rosalie quickly moved to shield Eliana, their bodies tense and ready for a fight. However, James was quick, his movements a blur as he lunged at Eliana.

Eliana let out a cry as James' teeth sank into her shoulder, the pain intense and searing. Alice and Rosalie quickly sprang into action, their combined strength enough to pull James off Eliana.

As Rosalie held off James, Alice quickly moved to Eliana's side, her eyes filled with fear. "Eliana, stay with me," Alice pleaded, her voice trembling.

Eliana, despite the pain, managed to nod, her eyes meeting Alice's. "I'm not going anywhere, Alice."


As Alice tended to Eliana, Rosalie faced off with James. Her golden eyes were ablaze with fury, her body coiled and ready to strike. James, despite his predatory instincts, was taken aback by Rosalie's ferocity.

"You won't hurt her anymore," Rosalie growled, her voice echoing through the silent forest.

James sneered, his gaze flicking to Eliana before returning to Rosalie. "And what are you going to do about it?"

Without another word, Rosalie lunged at James. Their bodies collided, a blur of movement amidst the stillness of the forest. The fight was fierce, each combatant matching the other's strength and speed.

However, Rosalie was driven by a powerful motivation - to protect Eliana. This determination gave her the upper hand, and with a swift, powerful move, she managed to overpower James.

With a final, decisive blow, Rosalie ended James. His body crumbled, his threat extinguished. The forest fell silent once more, the danger finally over.

Rosalie quickly returned to Alice and Eliana, her eyes filled with relief. "He's gone," she announced, her voice filled with a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction.

Alice nodded, her focus still on Eliana. "Thank you, Rosalie."
