Chapter Twenty-Four: Bella's Birthday

A month had passed since the incident, and life at the Cullen's house had gradually returned to normal. The dark red hue of Eliana's eyes had faded, replaced by the familiar golden color. She had worked hard to regain control, and her efforts were evident.

Now, a new event was on the horizon - Bella's birthday. Alice, being Alice, had taken it upon herself to arrange a grand celebration at the Cullen's house. Eliana, despite her initial reservations, found herself swept up in the excitement.

"Alice, don't you think this is a bit much?" Eliana asked, watching as Alice flitted around the room, arranging decorations.

Alice simply laughed, her golden eyes twinkling with excitement. "It's Bella's birthday, Eliana. It has to be perfect."

Together, they picked out a gift for Bella - a beautiful, antique locket. They hoped it would serve as a reminder of their friendship and the bond they all shared.

The day of the party arrived, and the Cullen's house was filled with laughter and celebration. Bella, surprised and touched by the effort.

A few minutes into the party, Eliana decided she needed a break. Even though she didn't particularly need air, the peace and tranquility of the forest always helped her clear her mind. So, she excused herself and ran through the forest, letting the cool breeze and the rustling leaves calm her.

After a few moments, she returned home, only to find a commotion going on inside. As she stepped inside, she saw Jasper being held back by Emmett, the piano was broken, and Bella... Bella was bleeding. The scent of her blood filled the room, making Eliana's eyes darken instantly.

Eliana tried her best to calm herself down, but the scent was too overwhelming. Just as she was about to lose control, Alice was there, her arms around Eliana, whispering soothing words in her ear.

"You're not going to hurt her, love. Just calm down," Alice said, her voice steady despite the chaos around them.

Alice's words, along with her comforting presence, helped Eliana regain control. She took a step back, distancing herself from the scent of Bella's blood.
