Amore Alekseev

The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as I woke up beside Alejandro. He lay beside me, peaceful in slumber, the lines of tension that usually marked his features softened by the serenity of sleep. For a moment, I simply admired him, taking in the subtle rise and fall of his chest, the gentle curve of his lips.

As I shifted to sit up, careful not to disturb his rest, my eyes lingered on the tousled strands of his dark hair. There was a vulnerability in sleep that even someone as formidable as Alejandro couldn't conceal. It was a rare sight, one that tugged at the strings of my heart, making me appreciate the man behind the carefully crafted persona.

Just as I was about to lean down and place a soft kiss on his forehead, the persistent buzz of Alejandro's phone disrupted the tranquil moment. Enzo's name illuminated the screen, and I hesitated for a moment, debating whether to let him continue sleeping or answer the call.

The urgency in Enzo's repeated calls hinted at something important, and with a sigh, I reached for the phone, slipping out of bed to take the call in the adjoining room. "Enzo," I greeted, attempting to keep my voice low so as not to disturb Alejandro's much-needed rest.

"Amore," Enzo's voice came through the phone, and I could sense the tension even through the device. "Where are you guys? I have been texting that fucker since yesterday. You almost gave me a heart attack."

I glanced back at Alejandro, still peacefully unaware of the unfolding events. "I understand your concern, Enzo. He's, um, sleeping. Let him rest a bit longer. We'll be coming to the mansion soon."

Enzo sighed audibly on the other end. "Sleeping? We've got some urgent matters to attend to, and he's just sleeping?"

"He needs it, Enzo," I replied, my voice carrying a hint of reassurance. "We'll be there shortly. I'll make sure he's informed and ready to tackle whatever needs his attention."

"Fine," Enzo conceded, though his reluctance lingered in the air. "But make it quick. We can't afford delays."

"I promise," I affirmed, ending the call with a sense of determination. Returning to Alejandro's side, I gently placed the phone back on the nightstand, careful not to disturb his slumber further.

As I continued to watch over him, a mixture of emotions swirled within me. The responsibilities that were now entwined with our connection were becoming more apparent, and I couldn't help but wonder how this alliance would shape our journey together. But one thing was certain—I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, hand in hand with Alejandro.

A subtle shift in the atmosphere signalled Alejandro's gradual return to consciousness. His eyes fluttered open, momentarily adjusting to the ambient light. As he focused on me, a faint smile played on his lips, a testament to the calm that sleep had temporarily restored.

"Good morning," I greeted, my voice a soft murmur. "You needed the rest."

Alejandro stretched lazily, a low hum escaping him. "What time is it?"

I glanced at the clock. "A little past ten. Enzo called; there are some urgent matters at the headquarters."

His eyes narrowed slightly, the weight of responsibility settling upon him. "What did he say?"

"He was concerned because we hadn't responded to his messages," I explained, my fingers gently tracing patterns on the bedsheet. "I assured him we'd be heading to the mansion soon, and you can tackle whatever needs your attention."

Alejandro sighed, running a hand through his tousled hair. "I appreciate you handling things, Amore. Sometimes, sleep is a rare luxury in my world."

I nodded, understanding the complexities of his reality. "We should get ready. Enzo is awaiting our arrival."
