Alejandro Moretti

The air in my office hung heavy with the residue of our earlier confrontation. Amore's eyes, filled with a mix of confusion and frustration, demanded an explanation for the abrupt clash with Ace. The disappointment in her gaze weighed on me, and I knew that my actions had sparked an unsettling atmosphere that needed resolution. "Amore, I..." I began, my voice faltering as I struggled to find the right words to alleviate the tension between us. "I just don't trust him around you."

Her frustration deepened, arms crossing defiantly, a silent rebellion against my perceived interference. "Alejandro, I can handle myself. You don't need to act like this."

Closing the distance between us, I sought to soften the edges of my previous outburst. My hand gently cupped her cheek, fingers tracing a delicate path along her skin. "I know you can, amore. It's just..." I sighed, my gaze momentarily dropping before locking with hers again. "I can't help but be protective of you. You mean everything to me."

Her expression softened, but a trace of annoyance lingered. "Well, there are better ways to show it than pushing people around."

A playful idea danced in my mind as I attempted to shift the atmosphere. Leaning in, I whispered, "You're right. How about I make it up to you?"

My fingers found a loose strand of her hair, twirling it gently around my finger. The other hand drew imaginary shapes on her back, a tender gesture to soothe the lingering tension. Her resistance crumbled, and a small giggle escaped her lips, the room momentarily filled with the sweet sound.

As she settled into the moment, I marvelled at the fleeting tranquillity. Yet, beneath the surface, the weight of the truth pressed on my chest, the revelation of our entangled histories waiting to be unveiled. With every passing second, I knew the calm would give way to the tempest that awaited us. The shadows of our past loomed large, and I braced myself for the storm that would reshape the very foundation of our shared destinies.

We settled onto the plush couch in my office, the lingering tension now replaced by an uneasy calm. The soft glow of the lamp cast a warm hue on the room as Amore's eyes roamed, taking in the subtle details. That's when her gaze fell upon the photo on the side table – a picture of her mother, Emilia. Mierda

Confusion furrowed her brow, and she picked up the photograph, studying it intently. "Why do you have a picture of my mama here?" she asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and bewilderment.

I hesitated, the weight of the truth pressing upon me. There was no turning back now.

"Amore," I began, my voice measured, "there are things you need to know. About us, about your past."

Her eyes widened with curiosity and a touch of apprehension, sensing the gravity of my words. I took a moment, my gaze fixed on a distant point as I marshalled the courage to unravel the secrets that had long been concealed.

"Dimitri Alekseev," I uttered, each syllable a revelation. "He's your father. Emilia, your mother, was the maid in the Alekseev mansion. There was an affair, and she became pregnant. Dimitri married her, and after you were born, you and her were abducted."

The revelation hung in the air, a heavy truth that seemed to defy comprehension. I watched as a range of emotions flickered across Amore's face – disbelief, shock, and, finally, a dawning realization.

"You grew up thinking that douche was your father, that he was responsible for the abuse," I continued, the words lingering in the room. " The man we took care of in the beginning, he's the real culprit."

The silence that followed felt suffocating, and I braced myself for the storm of emotions that would inevitably follow. Amore's gaze remained fixed on me, her eyes searching mine for the truth behind the words I had just spoken. The delicate threads of trust that had woven between us hung in the balance, and the revelation of her true past had laid bare the tangled web that connected our lives.
