chapter four

(Cassie's p.o.v.)

I blushed a fierce shade of scarlett and untangled myself from Damen. Correction. I tried to untangle myself from Damen.

He kept his arm around my waist and tightened his grip so I couldn't escape. Damn bastard.

"Sooo, mind explaining how...this came to be?" Liz said pointing to me and Damen with a smirk on her face.

"Um..Uh...You see, what happened was..uh we-"

"We're mates" Damen said smiling.

"Y-yeah what he said..." I mumbled looking at the floor. Everyone was quiet. I looked up and saw everyone blink once. Twice. Three times. And even a fifth time. And then..........

"OH MY GOOOOD!!!!" Liz screamed like a madman. I had to cover my ears because I was afraid she'd damage my hearing.

"Dayum Liz what the fuck are you trying to do? Make everyone go deaf?" I said jokingly. She just rolled her eyes and her and Anna came to give me a big hug.

Jake ruffled my hair and patted Damen on the back. Will just smiled like he had won the lottery at the both of us.

Everyone seemed happy. Even that girl that I saw with Damen last night.

I lay wide awake in my bed. Hours earlier Jake and Anna threw me a party and congratulated Damen and I on finding each other.

I still find it hard to believe that Damen is my mate. I find it even harder to believe that I have technically accepted him as so. What the hell is wrong with me?

There's a knock at my door and I get up to answer it. Well speak of the devil and he shall appear.

"Sorry Cassie, I didn't wake you did I?" Damen is standing in front of me shirtless, looking awfully tired and distraught.

"No it's fine I couldn't sleep anyway. What's wrong Damen?"

"I just...had a bad dream...about you. I thought you were gone." He said blushing a little. " I just wanted to make sure you were okay"

I giggled at how adorable he was being. " Do you want to sleep with me tonight? I don't mind as long as you don't try anything." WHAT THE HELL AM I SAYING??!!

"Okay...I guess if you're fine with it..." Damen yawned. I gave him a small smile and led him over to my bed.

I got in first and patted the empty space beside me. Damen crawled in next to me and pulled me to him. I wrapped one arm around his waist and layed my head on his chest.

"Goodnight Damen..."

" Goodnight love..."

(Damen's p.o.v.)

I wake up to find Cassie gone. I stretch my arm to the vacant space that she once occupied. It was cold, letting me know that she's been gone for awhile.

I sit up in panic, looking around the room for any sign of her. She isn't here. I get out of her bed and run down stairs calling Cassie's name.

"Good morning sleepy head. You finally woke up." She's sitting in the chair she sat in yesterday, smiling at me. I feel tears prick my eyes and watch as hers widen.

She gets up and comes over to me. A worried expression masking her beautiful face.

"Damen? Baby what's the matter? Are you feeling sick? I can go-" I pulled her to me and whispered 'no'

"I'm fine. Just stay with me." I say burying my face in her hair." You were gone when I woke up. I thought my dream had come true."

She wrapped her arms around me and said, " I'm sorry. You were sleeping so peacefully and I didn't want to wake you. I'm sorry."

"I'm so happy that you are my mate. I'd do anything to keep you safe and happy. So please just stay beside me." I mumbled into her hair.

She pulled back to look at me. A big beautiful smile now replaced the worried look she wore just moments earlier. She stood on her tip toes since I was a little taller than her and kissed me.

I immediately started to kiss her back and the kiss quickly became heated. I bit her lip asking for entrance. She granted it and my tongue slipped into her mouth, exploring every inch of it. I felt her pull me closer, trying to deepen the kiss.

I pulled away and started to leave a trail of kisses along her neck. She gasped when I found her sweet spot. I began to nip at it, making her moan. My wolf purred, happy that we had this effect on our mate.

"D-Damen we have to s-stop. The others w-will be down soon." she stuttered.

I kept kissing her neck then moved back to kiss her mouth. I pulled away and smirked." We'll continue this later."

I nipped her neck a few times more.

"Damen for reals." she whined. I pulled away again just as the others walked in.

"You started it Cass." I said pouting. She just smiled and pecked my cheek.

"Started what?" Liz asked.

I opened my mouth to answer her but Cassie beat me to it.

" None of your freaking business Liz"

" Wait, were you guys making out? In the dinning room where we eat? Uugh that's gross!!" Liz said making an 'eew' face.

"Lizabeth, leave them alone." Anna said coming into the room with a plate that had several omelets on it.

"Yeah Liz, don't be mad because you lost our little bet." Cassie said smirking. Damn she looked hot when she did that.

"What bet?" Will asked.

"When we were younger, I bet Cassie that I would find my mate before her because she practically cuts herself off from society." Liz said with a sigh.

" And I bet that whether or not I was in hiding or out in the open, my mate would somehow find me. And I was right." Cassie said looking at me.

She looked back at Liz and said " You owe me ten bucks! pay up."

"Yeah, yeah here." Liz pulled out a ten dollar bill and handed it to Cassie." But I swear to god that you cheated. Not sure how but you did."

Cassie chuckled and pecked me on the lips. " I have to go. I'll see you later." I nodded and smiled at her. She walked out of the room but not before saying to Liz,

"You can't cheat fate my dear."
