Cassie

chapter one

I growled at the rogue in front of me and he did the same. He was a large dark brown wolf with black eyes.He was bigger than me but that didn't mean anything.

'Cassie...' My wolf Sabine said.' I know. He's going to try to attack from the side.'

Me and the rogue circled each other and just as I had predicted, he lunged for my side. I dodged and quickly pinned him down. Before he could do anything, I ripped his throat out.

I transformed back. I burned his body and scattered any tracks I may have made. Soon someone would see the smoke or smell the burning flesh so I no longer lingered.

I walked back to my hide out which was a cave I had found. I changed and grabbed my dagger. I leaned against the wall and drifted to sleep.

When I woke up. I knew something wasn't right. I grabbed more of my daggers and put one in my boot and then another in its secret hiding place.

"Come out rogue! We know you're there. No point trying to hide." I walked out and their scent hit me. More rogues.

There were two of them. A man and a woman. This ought to be interesting.

"You the one who killed Mike?" The man asked.

I leaned on one foot and put my hand on my hip."Maybe. Who wants to know?"

"I'm his brother. That woman over there is his mate." He said pointing to the redhead.

I looked at her and she looked utterly broken. How pathetic. This is why I never want a mate.

"So...was it you or not kid? Answer the damn question."

I looked him in his eyes. "Yeah. It was me"

The woman transformed and lunged at me. She had me pinned to the ground and was trying to rip my face off. I held her snout in one hand and reached for one of my daggers with the other.

It didn't take long for me to end it. I pushed the now dead she-wolf off of me and stood up.

"Shit! You damn bitch! You fucking killed her!" The guy screamed.

"She tried to kill me. It was self defense."

"Is that why you killed Mike?!"

"No. He was killing newly transformed wolves."

"So? What's wrong with that?! We're rogues. You should understand. You're a rogue too!" He sneered.

I quickly went behind him and slit his throat. " I am nothing like you."

This time I didn't bother to dispose of the bodies.

'We have to run again don't we. They'll find us if we stay here .' Sabine said. And of course she was right.

I packed up my stuff and started towards the Half Moon pack. I ran and ran until I came to the border.

"Hey Cassie. Long time no see. How you been?" Adam said as I approached.

"Good. Jake and Anna here?"

"The alpha had to leave for a meeting but Luna Anna is here."

"Thanks Adam. See you later." I walked to the pack house and found Anna already waiting for me outside. She ran and hugged me the second she spotted me.

"Cassie! I'm so glad you're here. Where the hell have you been?! I was so worried!"

I rolled my eyes at her and hugged her back." I missed you too Anna."

"Why didn't you stay in touch? We haven't heard from you in so long. "

"Sorry. I had to take care of a few things "
