POV AUTHOR

It was finally the much-awaited freshers' party, and since the event was scheduled for the evening, everyone had the whole day off. Manav and the rest of the F4 boys had already left early in the afternoon, given their senior status, to supervise the final preparations.

Meanwhile, Tara was peacefully enjoying her much-needed beauty sleep—until disaster struck.

"Tara darling, uth ja! We have to get ready!" Shivi’s loud voice echoed through the room, shattering Tara's dreams into tiny, irreparable pieces.

Tara groaned and pulled her blanket over her face. "Shivi, tujhe kisne bola mere morning alarm banne ko?"   (Shivi, who told you to become my morning alarm?)

But Shivi was relentless. "Morning? Madam, it’s already afternoon!"

Realizing there was no escape, Tara dramatically dragged herself out of bed and trudged to the bathroom. After splashing cold water on her face, she stepped out holding two face masks. Whistling to catch Shivi's attention, she tossed one towards her friend.

"Waise, Tara, mujhe toh samajh aata hai ki main Rohan ke liye itni tayyari kar rahi hoon, but tu kiske liye itna saj-dhaj rahi hai, ha?" Shivi wiggled her eyebrows teasingly.

(By the way, Tara, I understand why I’m getting all dressed up for Rohan, but who are you dressing up for, hmm?)

Tara rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Shivi. Tere paas already dimag kam hai, upar se faltu baatein karegi toh jo bacha-kucha hai, woh bhi chala jayega. It’s better to keep quiet."

(Shut up, Shivi. You already have a limited brain, and if you waste it on nonsense, whatever little is left will also vanish. It’s better to keep quiet)

Shivi gasped dramatically. "Aree nahi, mujhe laga kahin Tarun bhai ke liye toh nahi!"

(Oh no! I thought maybe it was for Tarun bhai!)

Tara turned red faster than a traffic signal, but thankfully, the face mask covered her blush.

"Shut up and come on, let’s click a selfie," she quickly changed the topic, knowing very well that Shivi couldn’t resist a good photo session.

As expected, Shivi instantly perked up, and soon, their Instagram stories were updated with their masked faces, captioned: *Beauty queens in the making!*

Once their skincare ritual was over, the real challenge of the day arrived—the saree.

"Which saree are you wearing?" Shivi asked, recalling the absolute meltdown Tara had when they found out sarees were compulsory for the event.

"Mom’s saree, aur kya!" Tara pouted. "I still don’t know how to wear this thing!"
