I rush out of school getting into my car quickly. I've been avoiding Calum all day and he nearly got me just a few seconds ago. I'm still angry at him for what happened at our last meeting and I wasn't ready for another one.

He at least deserved to work some himself and have some difficulty like I did. If he wants this to work he's gonna show a little effort. I am not gonna let him treat me like those dumb girls that are all over him and do all the work.

At home I quickly clean my room up a bit then I pull out some magazines and my laptop. My cousin Caleigh is coming over since we do one of our usual girls' movie aka Netflix nights. We have always been quite close and I really enjoyed our gatherings.

Since we weren't in the same groups at school we didn't get to talk that much there so we invented these girls' nights a few years ago and I always look forward to them. Caleigh might have come off as shy but with me she wasn't shy. She was fun and talkative.

About an hour later we were sitting on my bed both cross-legged as I was complaining about the dipshit I had to do a project with while I was painting my nails. Caleigh was listening while skimming through some magazine.

"And after he let me sit there alone in the dark for what felt like eternity he finally made his appearance nearly scaring me to death." I fussed about the jock. "I think I could smell him before I saw him properly. He was so damn pissed all he reeked of was all sorts of alcohol."

"I think I know why he was so drunk. He had been at Ashton's party." Caleigh interrupted my rambling and I looked up from my nails for a second. "Argh, those freaking punks. You would think that they already killed enough of their brain cells but no they still keep on drinking until nothing is left."

Caleigh laughed at my comment and I looked up at her as I finally finished painting my nails in a cute pink tone. "How do you even endure living next to that Neandertal? I mean aren't the constant parties pissing you off? And seeing all those stuck up people so often?" I sigh. "I would be so done."

A strange look lies on her features for a second but it vanishes quickly before she coughs a bit. "You know it isn't that bad. Ashton's not that much of a douche he even greets me, mum and dad. He's actually quite nice."

I draw my brows together in confusion. "I didn't know that you know him. I thought you never talked to him, I've never seen the two of you talk neither in school nor at home."

"O-Oh, I d-don't. We-erm-W-e don't. H-e just s-seems nice?" She stutters and I shoot her a strange look. What's up with her today? She never stuttered around me and now she's like a car that won't start.

I knew Caleigh and I also knew that something wasn't right she was trying to keep something from me. "You're not crushing on Ashton, are you? Please tell me you're not that dumb and fall for his boy-next-door attitude. He's an asshole."

I watch as her face turns a deep shade of red. She shakes her head violently as she answers my question, stumbling over the words again. "Oh n-o. I-I'm n-not."

Okay there's something wrong. I mean I know she's shy when it comes to real guys but this? I decide to keep an eye on that theme as I change the direction of the talk a little bit but still try to get something out of her.

"So is there a guy that you like?" Again she turns all red and shakes her head violently before she returns the question.

"Nah, I mean don't get me wrong, I'm totally over Justin but there hasn't been a guy that really caught my attention since him." I sigh and let her off but I would watch her more closely to find out what is wrong with her. "I'm not interested in the guys on our school so I guess I'll just wait till I meet a nice guy when I'm out."

We keep talking a little sharing gossip of the school and about some famous people and bands we both like. As the sun goes down we search some movie on Netflix to watch as we both change into our pyjamas.

Halfway into the movie my phone rings and I sigh as I decline the call. It's a number I don't recognize so highly possibly Calum. Seconds later a text comes in and confirms my fear.

"Allison, since you won't answer your phone at least text me for our next meeting. Cal"

I huff in annoyance as I type back an answer. "I currently can't answer my phone. I don't know when Cal will you even turn up?"

"Next Wednesday at nine in Cavanaugh Park, I'll be there. Cal" A dry laugh escapes my lips as I read the lines. As if. Leigh shoots me a weird glance but I ignore it as I reply to his 'promise'.

"You better be bc I'm not gonna do all the work on my own like one of your minions. I'm not sweeped off by your looks and just gonna let you treat me like that. I'm not one of those girls."

His answer is short.

"I know."
