I scream inside as my dad and I sit still in the car on the way home. How could he? How could he get a girlfriend and not tell me? He's the one person who cares about me, and now I feel even more betrayed than the time that my brother left for college without even saying goodbye. When we arrive home, I immediately sprint up the stairs to my bedroom and slam the door, only to lay on my back in my bed, staring at the empty ceiling. "Mom," I whisper. "Mom, if you can hear me," I think about what to say. "If you can hear me I'm sorry. I'm sorry for every time that I ever said 'I hate you.' For every time I left my backpack and shoes out in the open for you to come yelling at me. For the bad times. For the sad times. For every time I ever disappointed you. I need you to hold me. Please. Let me know that I'll be okay. Please."
