"Good then..." I began, but my words were swiftly interrupted by Dhruv's stern voice, warning me before I could continue. "Don't even think," he cautioned, his gaze serious.
"But I haven't even said anything yet," I protested.
"I know very well what's going on in your mind," he asserted firmly.
"That's not fair. You don't get to order me," I replied, feeling a surge of defiance.
"A patient needs to rest, not work," he countered, his concern evident.
"I'm all well now," I insisted, trying to assert my independence.
"No, you're not," Dhruv countered, unwavering in his stance.
"Bhaisa is right; you should focus on recovery," Uday added, supporting Dhruv's argument with a nod.
"Also, Tara, stay away from matters that don't concern you directly. The preparations for the meeting are crucial, and I don't want you getting involved in things that might put you at risk," Dhruv asserted, his protective instincts surfacing.
Uday shot me an apologetic glance, acknowledging the abrupt interruption. "Bhaisa is right, Tara. Your well-being is our priority. Let us handle the complexities; you focus on your recovery and well-deserved moments of peace."
With a sigh, I acquiesced to their advice, understanding that they only wanted the best for me. "Fine, I'll focus on recovery, but don't think I'll stay idle forever," I declared, injecting a hint of playful defiance.
Dhruv chuckled, his stern expression softening. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Tara."
As the day came to an end, I found myself in my room, reflecting on the events of the day. The album of memories from my 21st-century life provided solace, and as I flipped through the pages, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the new connections I had made in this unfamiliar timeline.
Just then, Phool, Maan, and some other princesses entered my room, breaking the solitude. "Tara," Phool called with a warm smile.
I welcomed them, and Maan, understanding my unspoken curiosity, began introducing the other princesses one by one. Each had their unique stories and backgrounds, and it was heartening to see the diversity within the palace.
As we chatted and shared stories, the atmosphere became lively. Despite the challenges I faced in adapting to this era, the camaraderie with these princesses made the journey a bit easier.
The conversation steered towards the upcoming meeting of kingdoms on the mainland. I learned about the intricacies of the diplomatic gathering, and Dhruv's involvement in hosting such a significant event became apparent.
In the midst of laughter and shared stories, the princesses decided to leave, giving me some space for the night. As I settled into the quiet of my room, a gentle knock on the door interrupted my solitude. It was Dhruv, wearing a contemplative expression.
"Tara, may I come in?" he asked, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions.
"Of course," I replied, motioning for him to enter. As he stepped in, there was a moment of silence before he began to speak.
