CHAPTER 2

Anthony smiled stepping into the room, not noticing Jazmine yet. “What’s up y’all?”

                “Mr. Kerig-”

“Just call me Anthony,” he requested giving Dana a small smirk, followed by a wink.

“This nigga here,” Jazmine silently thought to herself before being forced to stand to greet her past.

“Anthony, you will be working closely with our CEO and Head-designer, Jazmine Robinson.”

Jazmine put on a fake smile but intimidating eyes that said “I remember”. She could tell his eyes were resisting wandering down her body and to her legs, but business was a pain. The two extended hands to each other to put on a front for everyone else, despite their knowledge of the past.

“Nice to meet you,” Jazmine finally said, refraining from using the word again publicly.

“Same to you,” Anthony responded. He knew damn well he would never talk to an old acquaintance like this unless under special circumstance…such as the one with his former lover, Jazmine.

Dana pulled a chair next to Jazmine, implied to be for Anthony’s flirty ass to sit upon. The two mostly remained silent, observing both of their publicists speaking of the same thing-publicity and money. However, what came through Jazmine’s ears left right out of Anthony’s.

DSFS wasn’t on their minds right now. Their thoughts consisted of each other, quietly reminiscing on what led them to the karma filled deja-voo moment between the two.

With a sigh of uncertainty, Jazmine turned off her cell phone and waited in her car. No interruptions were needed for the next hour, if not two.

                2:45 PM

It was time. She looked around out her rear view mirror scanning for a black Toyota Camry. Her heart was surprisingly calm, but Jazmine was still nervous. This was so unlike her…

But it was going to be worth it.

An ominous car pulled up in the parking spot next to Jazmine’s, the car obviously put in park. Jazmine slowly stepped out of her car and locked it behind her, making sure no one was looking her way. Silently, she slipped inside the car nearby, not giving the driver any eye contact.

“Two minutes late,” she said with a small smirk.

“So was you to class,” Anthony responded with on expressionless face. “Ready?”

“Whenever you are.” Jazmine buckled on her seat belt and folded her legs, avoiding a visual of her excitement and nervousness.

The two drove off out the parking lot and down the highway. Jazmine chewed on a stick of gum looking out into the world, sometimes making quick side glances at Anthony, who looked more focused on the road than anything. The music danced in between their ears, serving as the only kind of communication until they arrived to a gated apartment complex.
