𝘛he room is dead silent. His eyes stare at the dead man shaking uncontrollably as he holds on to his last breath. He didn't understand. He couldn't understand. The question, why, kept repeating in his head. Miko didn't know why his feet wouldn't move. Why is his heart rapidly beating against his chest? Why could he hear the beating loudly in his ear? Why did his murderous shaken hand drop the knife he was going to use on the same individual that lies dead before him? Why did this outcome happen?
"Here I thought you would do it." Latrice sighs while shaking her head. She walks around the couch and raises the knife again, penetrating the ex-detective neck. Over and over.
Miko could feel his stomach twist and turn, his gaze blurred and hazy, and his mind running a mile per second. What is going on? He killed people before. Why couldn't he handle just this one guy? The one guy that fucked him over countless of times. The same guy he was going to kill himself. That's the whole reason he was here.
"W-Why?" Miko grunts out, keeping down the vomit that threatened to escape. "Why the hell did you do that?!"
Latrice smiles and yanks the knife from detective Denis' neck. "You were allowing him to talk too long. He would've swayed you just as he did before with your sister."
The rage inside boils with the mention of his sister, Isa. He snaps his gaze towards her as she analyzes the dead man's body, slumping over the dark brown couch. Miko stands upright, panting heavily before grabbing her wrist, forcing her to look at him. He watches as a mischievous glisten covers her gaze, and a small smile matches it.
Funny? She thought this was hilarious. Latrice thought his state right now, the dead detective, and the situation they are currently in is funny.
"Why are you laughing?!" He shouts, making her laugh harder. After a few seconds, she stops. The silence consumed them once again. Latrice, the girl who approached him at his lowest. The girl who somehow convinced him to sleep with her. The girl who has given him the ultimatum to continue living his current life in vain or kill for her to get his life back.
"I don't know why you're so surprised, Miko." She tells him, breaking the silence. "I told you already, we are here to prove that you are ready to murder again. I guess that murderous drive is no more."
