As Mizu and (Y/n) enter the city, they walk through a graveyard, holding hands. Mizu looks in all directions, making sure they lost Ringo.
"Um Mizu..."
Mizu looked at her. "Yea—" Mizu was cut off because he ran right into Ringo. He looks at Ringo with an eyebrow raised and a frown on his face.
"Useful! I told you." Ringo smiled, seeming proud of himself for proving himself useful. Mizu sighs and goes around him, pulling (Y/n) along with him. "You will not find what you seek at my side." Mizu said wanting Ringo to leave him and (Y/n) alone. "I am owed my revenge, and I will have it at any cost." Mizu continued. Ringo gasps and catches up. "Huh! I love revenge." Mizu stops, sighs once again, and tilts his head down.
"It is a demon's path littered with death."
"I'm not afraid. I can train, and I can help you. Also, if it's so dangerous, then why is she with you?" Ringo asks. (Y/n) looks up at Mizu, then at Ringo, then back to Mizu.
"Two reasons. One, she can protect herself. Two, I have a feeling she needs to take revenge as well." Mizu answers and looks down at (Y/n), then looks at Ringo through his peripheral vision.
"Oh. Anyway! I'm already the greatest in the world at one thing. What's one more?" Ringo asks another question, and Mizu turns around with a glare and says, "Noodles is not war." Ringo's smile fell, and holds up his nubs. "My whole life has been a battle." Mizu gives a deep sigh, nods his head down, turns around, and continues walking. Ringo smiles. "I'm an apprentice!" He said it happily as he jogged to catch up with Mizu and (Y/n).
"So, where do we go to get your revenge?" Ringo asks.
"We need a boat." Mizu replied as they walked to the edge of a cliff to look at the city.
"Ooh! A revenge boat." Ringo said it with some excitement. (Y/n) giggles at his excitement and holds Mizu's hand tighter.
The three started to make their way to the city, but the only way to do that was to walk across the edge of a mountain.
"Boom, there was blood everywhere. And that's why I vowed never to eat eggplant again." Ringo said, finishing up his story, and (Y/n) looked at him with a confused and concerned face, wondering how the hell he managed to bleed because of an eggplant. "So, tell me about this boat." Ringo said it curiously. "I've never been on a boat. I wonder if I'll get sea sick." (Y/n) follows closely behind Mizu but is still listening to Ringo's story, mostly.
"I get nauseous in the bath when I slosh around too—" He gets cut off because (Y/n) stopped and turned her head to look at him. "Ringo, maybe something's you should keep to yourself, okay? Okay." She said it in the politest way, not wanting to hurt his feelings. "Okay!" Ringo replied, (Y/n) nodded, turned back around, and started walking again, and Ringo followed. "Ahh!" Ringo slipped but was able to not fall off. Mizu and (Y/n) quickly turned around and looked at Ringo. Mizu kind of just glared at him, and (Y/n) looked at him with concern.
Ringo looked up at both of them, "Naturally stealthy." He said it with a smile. "You don't have to be here." Mizu said and kept walking forward, with (Y/n) following close behind. "And miss you killing Heidi Shindo?" Ringo asked. "Not him. The white man he protects. He's on an island in the west." Mizu replied. "By sea, I can be there before dawn and kill him by sunrise." Mizu continued. "Revenge." Ringo said it just because.
The three make it to an abandoned-looking gate and look around at it as they kept walking. They walk into the city, and Ringo and (Y/n) look around.
"Where is everybody?" Ringo asked.
"This place is like a ghost town." (Y/n) added. "Cool." She smiled.
As the three walked, they looked through open doors and windows, trying to find at least one person. (Y/n) being (Y/n) actually walks up to the open doors, sticks her head in, looks around, and does that to almost every house and every building they walk past.
As they kept walking, Ringo and (Y/n) heard a noise and stopped to listen. "Spooky." She giggles. Ringo jogs to either catch up with Mizu or to get away from (Y/n), both valid reasons.
"Hello?" Ringo asks as (Y/n) appears next to Mizu. "Why are all the lights on if no one's home?" (Y/n) asks no one in particular.
Just then a man runs past the three, and Mizu looks at him through his peripheral vision. Mizu is about to unsheath his sword, but the man slows down and walks in a drunken state. The man looks at the two, Ringo and Mizu, confused as he hiccups.
"Where did your town go?" Ringo asked and looked around. "And where did (Y/n) go?"
"I'm right here." She said appearing from around the corner. The man looks at her and starts to drunkenly skip away. Mizu, Ringo, and (Y/n) followed.
After they followed the man, they ended up at a festival. (Y/n) looked around in awe at the cool performances and traditions. Ringo looked around with a smile on his face, and Mizu just had a straight face as he looked around.
Mizu looked at Ringo. "We're not here for fun. We're here for a boat." Mizu reminded him as they continued to walk to the docks.
"Sure, I can take you there." The drunk boatman said. "Thank you." Mizu said that and was about to step on the boat. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." The man chuckles. "Not now. Tomorrow." The second man chimes in, saying, "Not too early either."
Mizu looks at them. "I must leave now."
"During the Hadaka Matsuri? Well, then you'll have to swim. Everyone's closed today! We have to purify ourselves and celebrate the kami, or we'll have a bad year." The first boatman stated. "You don't want a bad year, do you?" The second one chimes in again.
Mizu looks around the dock and sees every boatman drinking and having fun with friends on the boats. "Fine. Tomorrow then." Mizu looks at them, giving in. "That's the spirit. Have fun!" The boatman said. "Stay for the Shingi. A dip in the ice cleanses the soul. You don't wanna miss that." The second one adds, while Ringo's eyes light up as he hears that. "When you hear the drums, come running." The second man said it sternly.
"We will see you in the morning." Mizu bows, turns around, and walks away, with (Y/n) and Ringo following. "Not too early!" The second boatman yelled. (Y/n) and Mizu look back as they walk, (Y/n) rolling her eyes as Mizu runs into Ringo once again. "Sorry. Stealthy." Ringo said with a smile, and (Y/n) giggled. "You do that a lot." He said to Ringo, then directed his attention to (Y/n). "And you somehow run or wander off without anyone hearing you and appear out of nowhere." He told (Y/n) as he started to walk again. Mizu stops at a stand of bells as Ringo begins to talk. "There has to be something you'd like to do while we wait. Gambling? We could try their noodles!" As Ringo goes on and rants about what to do, Mizu spots two bells.
Both (Y/n) and Mizu kind of start to tune out Ringo as Mizu grabs the two bells and pays for them. Mizu turns around and says, "Your foot." He points at Ringo's foot, and Ringo lifts up his foot. Mizu ties one of the bells to his ankle, flicks the bell, and stands back up. "Your foot." He then points to (Y/n)'s foot, and she lifts it up, and Mizu ties the bell to her ankle as well. "You both are never to take that off." He then directs the next sentence to only Ringo. "The day you take that off, you are discharged from your duties." He turns to you. "And for you, the day you take off the bell, you give me the bell."
