City pizza was the absolutely best thing to eat. The molten cheese covering the delicious tomato sauce which mapped off the bronze dough and the pepperonis topping as well as the pizza crust—you were completely enamored with it because, generally speaking, pizza was a ten out of ten but city pizza automatically broke the scale of one to ten.
At least that's what you thought.
You were soon pulled out of your daze when a motherly voice grabbed your attention after she placed in an odd order. "Can I have a cheese pizza with pepperoni on it?" She enquired, and based on her appearance—wearing an expensive-looking pantsuit—she might be a businesswoman; you thought.
Even a mother—three young children, ages ranging from eight, five and three—she managed to look unfazed when she glanced at them. The frustration and exhaustion mapped out on her face clashed violently against the undaunted glint that danced in her droopy, brown eyes. Additionally, the motherly touch she tousled through their neatly groomed hair seemed almost uncharacteristic.
However, the tender moment interrupted as the employee asked, scowling at her questioningly, "Um...Do you mean a pepperoni pizza, ma'am?"
"No, a cheese pizza with pepperoni." She shot back, brushing a few ringlets of her hair away from her face. Then bent down to her dazed and confused eight-year-old daughter. The little girl twirled her honey-colored hair and kept asking questions about the pizza. "No, Himari. The pizza isn't ready yet."
The tired eyes of the pizza worker tiredly watched the scene play out and as if on cue: the businesswoman rose to her feet and awaited her destiny, demanding for it to be fulfilled. Still unable to comprehend what was being said, the employee looked at the customer blankly. With a sigh, she entered the order, took out the cash, and inserted it into the cash register.
